Sophia enjoyed the show, her face full of mockery. She sneered, “Jonathan, this one’s on you. Your own son is fighting for his life, and yet here you even do such things.”
Jonathan’s eyes blazed with fury. “Will you just shut the hell up?”
“Jonathan, you’re getting way too cocky lately,” Sophia snapped, clearly annoyed and ready to stir things up.
With that, Sophia pulled a telescopic baton out of her bag and handed it to Heather with a sly grin. “Here, Heather, use this to hit him. Trust me, your hand won’t even hurt.”
Heather took the baton and immediately started whacking Jonathan with it.
Wincing in pain as he dodged the blows, Jonathan shouted angrily, “You ungrateful brat!”
With a cheeky grin, Sophia accepted his comment and quipped, “That’s exactly what I am supposed to do.”
Jonathan was at his wit’s end. Dodging her blows, he pleaded, “Heather, please, calm down! It’s not what you think. We really need to talk this through.”
Sophia was thoroughly enjoying the drama unfolding before her. There was no way she’d let them talk things out.
Sophia sneered, “What’s the point of talking? In the end, you always call the shots. This isn’t a discussion. It’s just you dictating. Let’s be real, Heather, you never had any say in the Chandler family anyway.”
Sophia urged, “Come on, Heather! We can’t take this lying down. Let all that pent–up rage out.
“Make sure he understands loud and clear–a cheating husband always gets what he deserves!” Sophia goaded.

Fueled by Sophia’s encouragement and the dreadful thought of becoming the laughingstock at future high–society gatherings, Heather was on the verge of a complete breakdown.
Heather gritted her teeth, her face contorted savagely as she finally unleashed all the pent–up fury she’d been suppressing for days.
Heather swung the telescopic baton savagely at Jonathan. Witnessing this, Yvette cringed, ducked her head, and quickly backed away to a safe distance.
Sophia taunted, “Why are you backing away? Shouldn’t you] just stand there and take your beating?”
Yvette turned her head away, making it clear she had no intention of talking to Sophia.
A creeping sense of unease began to spread through Yvette’s chest. The feeling was growing stronger and stronger inside her.
Yvette thought in distress, ‘This is nothing like my dream at all. Lately, she kept having the same dream.
In her dreams, she was the heroine. Ever since she returned to the Chandler family, everyone doted on her, cherished her, and adored her.
But when she woke up, the reality was nothing like that. Everything had been fine when she first returned to the Chandler family, until that damn party. From that day on, everything changed.
The Sampson family went bankrupt, her adoptive father was jailed, and even Howard–who had always doted on her–had become like this. And it had all started with Sophia.
She remembered that Sophia had hit her head at the party, and then Sophia had changed completely. She suspected that Sophia regained her past–life memories just like her.
Yvette thought anxiously, ‘If that’s the case, this is serious trouble. What should I do? I must come up with a plan.‘
Sophia had no idea what was going through Yvette’s mind. Watching the one–sided beatdown between the couple, she grinned and said, “Yvette, Kevin stabbed someone. Looks like he’ll be reuniting with his father in prison.”
“What did you just say?” Yvette stared at her in shock. She had been counting on Kevin’s help. This was the last thing she expected to hear.
“That’s impossible. Kevin would never stab anyone. Stop making thing
up!” Yvette said.
Sophia’s eyes gleamed with even more amusement as she taunted, “Yvette, this happened days ago and you seriously didn’t know? Hasn’t your adoptive mother come looking for you?”
Yvette froze. ‘She came. Of course she did,’ she thought.
Thinking back to Monica’s emotional blackmail, Wette had no choice but to let Monica move into the apartment Jonathan had given her and even
handed her some money.
After that, Yvette instructed the nurses to bar Monica from coming upstairs and even blocked her number.
Yvette quickly pulled out her phone to call Monica but froze just as her finger hovered over
the button.
Sophia leaned in toward her, whispering in her ear, “What’s the matter? Afraid they
latch onto you if you call?”

Yvette’s delicate face twisted with anger as she glared at Sophia. “Sopifia, you did this!”
Sophia gloated with malicious delight.
“The ones who are owed money have to act humble but still end up getting stabbed. How pathetic,” Sophia sneered.
Sophia said, “Wette, I’m starting to wonder if Kevin knew he’d never pay off those debts.
“Instead of ending up homeless, starving, and getting beaten up on the streets, he might as well just head to prison–free food, a bed, and he and his dad can keep each other company behind bars.
“Only he could come up with such a brilliant plan,” Sophia said.
Yvette knew full well that Sophia was up to no good, yet, weirdly enough, she couldn’t help thinking, ‘She actually makes a lot of sense!
At this moment, doubts began to surface in Yvette’s mind. ‘Is that really the case?‘ she wondered.
