Sophia was right. When Yvette received Kevin’s call that morning, she was startled. Taking advantage of the fact that no one from the Chandler family had woken up yet, Yvette quickly sneaked out.
“Kevin, what are you doing here?” Yvette’s face didn’t look too good. She had cried the night before, and on top of that, hadn’t slept well. Her eyes were swollen, and her delicate face showed a faint hint of sadness.
Seeing her like this, Kevin couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy. He reached up and gently stroked her cheek. “Yvette, you must have been through a lot.”
As soon as Yvette heard those words, her nose tingled, and her eyes reddened. She threw herself into Kevin’s arms, sniffing. “Kevin, I miss you
so much.”
Kevin felt as though his heart was being pierced with pain. He could only hold Yvette tightly and ask, “Yvette, you really don’t want to come back
with me?”
Kevin didn’t want to see Yvette being mistreated. He didn’t believe she’d have any feelings for the family she hadn’t seen in eighteen years, especially after the way Sophia treated her. Just thinking about it made Kevin wish he could throw Sophia into the sea.
“Kevin, you know, I finally found my parents. I—” Yvette’s meaning was clear. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to go with him, but she wanted to be with her parents.
“Alright,” Kevin said without hesitation.
Yvette was stunned. She thought Kevin had come to take her back with him, but she didn’t expect him to agree so quickly to let her stay.
“Thank you, Kevin.” In her happiness, Yvette planted a kiss on his cheek. “I knew you were the best to me.”

Kevin looked at her with an expression full of indulgence. His gaze was hot, filled with a man’s desire for a woman.
But Yvette, like a blind person, seemed completely unaware of Kevin’s feelings for her. She just cuddled closer into his arms, hugging his waist, as though they were completely at ease with each other.

Sophia was eating pasta when Yvette came back.
Seeing her smiling face, Sophia raised an eyebrow but didn’t say anything. Yvette, on the other hand, didn’t say a word either and went straight
upstairs.
After all, the two had already torn off the mask of civility. There was no need to pretend when there were no outsiders around.
Sophia sneered dismissively. Kevin’s usual tactics for dealing with her were nothing new.
Since the plot was advanced, she wasn’t about to sit back and wait. Before Kevin could make his move, Sophia had already packaged the information she had gathered and sent it to Kevin’s fiancée.
Kevin had a fiancée, Ciara Kent, who had been promised to him since
childhood.
The Sampson family and the Kent family had a long–standing relationship. Ciara was the only daughter of the Kent family, so her parents had raised her strictly from a young age.
Now, Ciara had taken over part of the Kent family’s business and had become a strong, independent woman.
In the original story, Ciara became the stepping stone for Yvette and Kevin. Not only did she lose her family, but even the Kent family’s business was taken over by Kevin.

In the end, she was the second most tragic supporting character, after Sophia, to meet a horrible fate.
After taking a nap, Sophia came downstairs and happened to overhear Jonathan on the phone. His tone was full of anger and reproach.
“What the hell is going on? Didn’t I tell you to suppress those rumors? How did they get out again?” he shouted. “How can anyone believe what’s
online? It’s all nonsense!”
“I know my daughter. She’s never done anything like that. I’m telling you, this must be handled well, or the Chandler family’s reputation will be damaged,” Jonathan said, hanging up the phone. But his face was still grim.
“Jonathan, what happened?” Sophia figured it had something to do with her. She guessed Kevin had already taken action.
Jonathan’s face was full of frustration. He was burning with fury but had nowhere to vent. He could only reply gruffly, “It’s none of your business.”
“Oh,” Sophia said nonchalantly, then walked over and sat on the sofa, taking an apple and biting into it.
Jonathan’s suppressed rage flared up even more at her calm, unhurried demeanor. “Did you hear the call I just made?”
Sophia, thinking he wasn’t planning to tell her, nodded in surprise. “Yeah.”
Jonathan exhaled sharply, his eyes widening. “Since you heard, I’ll tell you. Someone posted a video online of you hitting people at the banquet.
“There’s also a group of people claiming to be your classmates from elementary, middle, or high school. They’re saying you bullied them in school. They’re calling you a troublemaker, hanging out with gangs at a
young age.
“Those clickbait accounts are jumping on the bandwagon, and now the whole internet is doubting you, cursing you out, and some are even

reporting the Chandler Group. The relevant authorities will be investigating soon.”
Sophia didn’t panic upon hearing this. She merely let out a nonchalant “oh” and took another bite of her apple.
“Stop eating. Don’t you know it’s because of you that our family’s being investigated?” Jonathan was furious, glaring at Sophia as if she had committed some unforgivable crime.
Seeing him in such a flustered state, Sophia remained unmoved. “So what if they investigate? As long as you haven’t been involved in tax evasion or anything illegal, let them investigate.”
“It’s easy for you to say,” Jonathan snapped, slamming his cup onto the table so hard that water splashed out. “Don’t you get it yet?”
“It’s all your fault. Who told you to hit people at the banquet and offend the Shelton family, the Lynn family, and the Foley family?” he continued. “Now, they’re going to do whatever it takes to get back at us. Happy now?”
Sophia nodded. “Yep.”
Jonathan couldn’t take it anymore. He raised his hand, ready to slap her across the face.
Sophia coldly stared at him, lifting her foot and kicking the coffee table. The other end of the table hit Jonathan’s legs. He winced in pain, almost collapsing onto the floor.
“It seems I’ve been too patient lately, making you think I’d sit here and let you hit me,” Sophia said.
“You-” Jonathan collapsed onto the sofa, sweating profusely. “You ungrateful brat.”
Sophia tossed the apple core into the trash and grabbed a tissue to wipe her hands.

“I’ll handle my own affairs. Next time, speak to me more politely, and don’t lay a hand on me again.” With that, she turned and went upstairs without sparing him a glance.
Jonathan lay on the sofa, staring up at the expensive crystal chandelier, muttering after a while, “How ungrateful.”
After going upstairs, Sophia opened her computer. As she expected, her name was trending on Twitter and various online forums.
Every topic she clicked on had people cursing her out. It was clear that someone had spent a lot of money to ruin her reputation.
Sophia remained expressionless, her long fingers calmly dancing across the keyboard. She wasn’t using hacker techniques to delete the comments, but rather gathering evidence.

Once she had collected enough evidence, she stopped. Without hesitation, she dialed a number she was very familiar with.
“Hello, who’s speaking?” A gentle yet somewhat distant voice came from the other end of the line.
