Sophia nodded. ‘Looks like today isn’t just about watching the drama–there might even be some unexpected gains, she thought to herself.

Jonathan, still talking, didn’t check his phone, but Sophia didn’t care. ‘The happier they look now, the more fun it’ll be later,‘ she thought smugly.
Maelis and Dorian went to get some food. Maelis looked at Nadia beside her and asked, “Why aren’t you going with them?”
Nadia nervously fixed her glasses, and looked around the busy hall full of clinking glasses and lively talking. “W–what would you like to drink? I can get it for you,” she offered, sounding unsure.
“Just juice is fine,” Sophia said. Nadia gave a small smile and went to get the juice.
Sophia never thought Bryan would come to talk to her. His rough, tired voice called from behind. She turned and saw Bryan. He looked tired and -defeated, but behind that exhaustion, his eyes burned with obsession and madness.
“Want to hit me?” Sophia asked coldly.
Bryan walked over and sat next to her with a self–mocking smile. “Actually, I should thank you. If it wasn’t for you, I might never have known the truth my whole life.”
Sophia nodded. “That’s quite an enlightened view.”
Bryan didn’t waste time and got straight to the point: “I heard about the Hebert family. Do you have a way to help me?”
Sophia raised an eyebrow. “Sure do.”
The once lifeless Bryan suddenly perked up. “Then help me! I’ll pay anything, just tell me what to do.”
