As we passed Tristan on our way to the dining room, I felt his eyes on me, tracking my movements. The weight of his stare borned into my back, SOL 1 Fest my focus on Fenris, guiding him carefully down the hall.

“Why would you need to see them?” Selene’s sharp voice cut through the air as she entered the dining room. How could you possibly understand any medical content?”
I opened my mouth to respond when Tristan entered behind her and, to my shock, took the seat directly to my right.
Selene froze, her gaze fixed on Tristan’s choice of seating. She approached my chair, lips pressed into a thin line.
“Why are you sitting there?” she demanded, addressing me directly. “That’s my seat. Or have you forgotten you’re no longer a member of the Wolfbane family? No longer Tristan’s Luna?*
I started to rise, not wanting to cause a scene, when Tristan’s hand landed on my wrist, firm yet strangely gentle.
“It’s fine, Selene,” he said, his voice even. “Take the seat next to her.”
I turned to him, stunned, but he didn’t meet my gaze, focusing instead on unfolding his napkin.
Selene’s face registered shock, then hurt. Isolde looked up from her plate, pinning the younger woman with a steely gaze.
“Why are you still standing? Sit in the other chair. Lysandra is our guest. She can sit wherever she wishes.”
“Y–yes, Luna Isolde.” Selene reluctantly took the seat beside me, her body angled away as though proximity might contaminate her.
As servants brought the first course, Isolde prepared a small plate for Fenris. I watched her reach for a jar of silverelm honey, her spoon hovering over his bread.
‘Isolde, don’t,” I said quickly. “His medical report indicates he’s allergic to silverelm. It weakens his wolf’s strength.”
Tristan turned to me, brows drawing together. “How do you know that?”
‘I saw it in his medical reports,” I replied, meeting his gaze steadily.
“And when did you become qualified to read those?“/His question held no accusation, just genuine curiosity.
“Dr. Rylan shared them with me.”
Selene laughed, the sound like breaking glass. How absurd! I heard you abandoned your education after getting married. How could you possibly understand complex medical reports?” She leaned forward eyes glittering with malice. “Do you think this is a game? I also heard you claiming you’d find a treatment to help Fenris. Do you even know who Dr. Frostwhisper is? The treatment you mentioned is his invention–how could you possibly master it?”
Isolde fixed Selene with a glare that would have sent most wolves cowering. The blonde immediately lowered her head in feigned submission, though the corner of her mouth twitched with suppressed anger.
