Kieran shook his head quickly. “No. I’m sorry. That’s not what I meant. I meant if he is the children’s father, how could the DNA be negative?” Confusion etched his features.
I looked between their troubled faces. “I think he’s lying. He knows the truth, or…”
Suddenly, a thought struck me. I unlocked my phone, fingers moving frantically.
“What are you doing?” Alaric demanded.
“I think there’s one person who could do this,” I replied, searching for a particular phone number. Finding it, I quickly dialed, putting the phone on speaker.
After two rings, a familiar voice answered. “Hello?”
“Rylan?”
“Lysandra? Are you okay?” His voice carried genuine concern.
I cleared my throat. “I’m fine. I’m calling to ask you something.”
“Is everything alright there?”
“Did you know that Tristan tested his DNA?” I asked directly.
Silence stretched between us, making my nerves tighten like violin strings.
“Rylan? Did you alter the report?” I pressed, exchanging anxious glances with Alaric and Kieran. Their eyes reflected my own desperate need for answers.
“Yes,” he finally replied. “I was the one who changed the report.”
Relief washed through me, my shoulders sagging. “How did you do it?”
“He’s our Alpha for a reason,” Rylan explained. “He knew I had some connection with you, so he chose not to notify me. He found another doctor who doesn’t work under me. But learning about it wasn’t easy. Thanks to Selene.”
“Selene?” I frowned in disbelief. “What happened?”
“She was the one who called me the day Alpha returned to Silverblood Pack. She asked about a report, but I couldn’t answer her question. I couldn’t possibly understand what Alpha and Beta were discussing. However, Selene personally came to the hospital today with Alpha’s parents. She found the report, though I don’t know how. But she asked for my help. She cried to me saying she didn’t want to lose Tristan. So I told her I would help her. But actually, I just wanted to save you and your children.”
I was speechless, unsure whether to mentally thank Selene or curse her for yet another scheme.
“Don’t worry, Lysandra, Rylan continued. “I did everything to eliminate the report. I changed it, and that doctor doesn’t even know it. You can relax.”
“Thank you so much, Rylan. I don’t know how to-”

“Don’t,” he interrupted. “You call me a friend. If friends can’t keep each other’s secrets, who will?”
Alaric stepped closer to the phone. “You’ve been helping my sister all along. Tell me how I can help you.”
Rylan chuckled at Alaric’s words. “Alpha Alaric, I don’t need any help. My Alpha has given me everything, but I was too afraid for your sister and her children’s safety, so I hid this from him. Perhaps I’ve betrayed him by doing so.”
After ending the call, I felt fortunate to have such a friend. Rylan’s confirmation and reassurance had given me new hope for life.
Alaric pulled me into a hug, stroking my hair. “Now everything is clear. You should only focus on your future now. You don’t have to worry about anything. Whether that Alpha discovers the truth or not, as long as your brother is by your side, he can never harm you or your children.”
I glanced at Kieran over Alaric’s shoulder. He nodded, his expression complicated.
Two days ago, when Alaric had asked if I wanted to start a new life with Kieran, I refused. Not because Kieran wasn’t my type or I had anything against him, but because I didn’t want to lose a friend. I could never give him the place in my heart that belonged to someone else, even if I hated that person. I just didn’t want to ruin his beautiful life.

Ravencroft Enterprises was flourishing, each employee trusting me and working hard for the pack’s development. My business acumen impressed my parents and brother, silencing any whispers about a female CEO.
The fear that had haunted me since Tristan’s call gradually dissolved. I no longer needed to dread the truth being exposed. In recent weeks, Ravencroft had won every deal I touched, especially those that might have fallen to Wolfbane Enterprise.
When Alphas from other packs came to see Alaric seeking alliances, they met with me to discuss business, treating me with a respect I’d never experienced as Tristan’s Luna.
I walked toward my office one morning, observing the employees around me. They focused on their work as if there was no other reason to live, I knew they were just pretending because they thought I strict. The moment I entered my
office, they would start talking to each other.
I didn’t mind. They had their own lives, and working in a friendly environment wasn’t bad.
Serena placed a coffee cup on my desk. “Boss, your coffee.”
“Thank you, Serena,” I replied, continuing to review the documents before me.
‘Miss Ravencroft, why are you still stressed? You know you’ll win this deal.” Pride colored her voice.
I set down the files and looked at her, “We can’t be overconfident, Serena.”
“Of course,” she acknowledged, collecting several folders from my desk before leaving the office.
This new project was crucial for me and Moonshade Pack. In two days, the Moon Ring Council would meet. All packs were preparing projects to discuss there. I’d been working on this deal all week, confident in my success. I guessed everyone

As evening approached and I prepared to leave my chair, a knock sounded at the door.
“Come in,” I called.
Kieran entered with our general manager, both looking unusually tense.
“What’s wrong?” I asked.
“Miss Ravencroft, we’ve completed the work on the issues you instructed us to resolve,” the manager said, handing me a folder before leaving the office.
I began checking everything, trying to spot flaws, but I was impressed by everyone’s excellent work on this project.
“Lysandra.” Kieran’s voice was unusually serious.
I looked up, noting the concern in his eyes. “What’s wrong? Are you okay?”
He shook his head. “I heard from the Moon Ring Council that another pack is also pursuing this deal, and it’s a very powerful pack.”
