Chapter 20
Edward’s POV
The next three days were the most peaceful days Edward had ever longed for.
On the first day, he led Eliza around the house, excitedly sharing the feelings he had while decorating it.
“Eliza, this window is the off–white color you wanted before. When you open it, you can see the gardenias blooming!”
“I’ve also planted gardenias all over the yard! But the season for gardenias has already passed so you’ll have to wait until next year to see them bloom.”
Eliza only looked at him coldly, her face expressionless.
Edward then took her upstairs to the attic, pointing at a handcrafted swing.
“Eliza, I made this with my own hands. You said before you wanted a swing at home, preferably in the attic.”
“I put in translucent glass in the attic, so you can sit on the swing and watch the blue sky and white clouds, or even gaze at the stars at night.”
Eliza still stared without a trace of emotion, not responding at all.
That’s how Edward showed her the entire house.
The next day, he took Eliza to an amusement park. He rented out the whole park and stayec there with her until evening.
As the sun set, painting the sky with a fiery glow, Edward held Eliza’s hand as they boarded the Ferris wheel.
When the Ferris wheel reached its highest point, Eliza, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke.
“Edward, even if you make a wish now, I won’t love you. It’s useless. I don’t love you anymore. M heart isn’t with you.”
A flash of pain appeared in Edward’s eyes, but he said softly, “That’s okay, Eliza. As long a you’re still by my side, there’s still hope.”
Suddenly, a loud noise came from beneath the Ferris wheel.
Eliza looked down and saw that the ground below was covered with roses and balloons.
Edward was showing his love for her in his own way.
She suddenly remembered that, years ago, on Edward’s birthday, she had been left behind.
But she had already prepared a birthday gift and cake for him, so she had no choice but to ask around for his whereabouts.
When she finally found him, she discovered he was using the exact same way to show his love to Olive.
Eliza sneered coldly, “Edward, your way of courting really hasn’t changed in ten years, not a bit o originality.”
Chapter 20
441 pm 0000
Edward’s face suddenly turned pale, her words left him speechless.
On the third day, Edward took Eliza to the seaside.
They sat side by side on the beach, watching the sunrise, then waited for the sunset.
Only after the sky had completely darkened did Edward slowly stand up and raise his hand. Suddenly, a firework exploded in the sky, followed by more bursting into colorful blooms.
There was even a display spelling out “I LOVE U
Edward slowly went down on one knee.
Eliza suddenly laughed, “Whet, is this the same trick you used to woo Olive back then?”
Edward’s voice was hoarse, “No. I only do this for you.”
He then slowly took out a ring. “Eliza, can you give me a chance? I know you’re married to Jason but I don’t care. As long as you say yes, the helicopter will arrive immediately. We can go abroad be together forever and no one will bother us again.”
In Edward’s hopeful eyes, Eliza picked up the ring. But she turned her head and threw the ring directly into the sea.
Edward, I’m unwilling. You and I will never be. This game has gone on for several days already It’s time to end it.”
