Chapter 19
Before the exhibition tour began in Burnham, Eliza had to transport all her artworks there.
Edward knew her too well. When it came to something she loved, she would definitely go all out and pour her heart and soul into it.
She was meticulous and liked to do things personally, never delegating to others. Even packing the paintings would be done by Eliza herself,
Edward rented a place in a high–rise residential building a few hundred meters away from her studio.
Every day, he used a telescope to observe Eliza in the studio and as he had expected, she was carefully inspecting and packing her paintings day after day.
Then, Eliza would very likely be followed by car to Burnham.
The Clark Family’s influence in Burnham was far weaker than in Northwyn, so there would definitely be loopholes. This was Edward’s perfect opportunity to strike.
Edward quietly followed Eliza’s car and arrived in Burnham.
As soon as he got there, he contacted a close friend of his. It was a local big shot in Burnham.
Just as Eliza arrived in Burnham and started checking a truckload of paintings, suddenly someone burst into the gallery.
Alert, she immediately guarded her artworks, “What do you want?”
Before she could react, a masked man attacked her from behind, pressing a cloth over her
mouth and nose.
She struggled for only a few seconds before losing consciousness completely.
When she woke up again, she found herself tied up inside a house.
The house was warmly decorated, giving Eliza a faint sense of familiarity.
She carefully looked around for a while, then suddenly remembered. This was the ideal home she had once described to Edward.
The kitchen emitted the aroma of food; someone was busy cooking inside.
Soon, Edward came out carrying a bowl of seaweed and egg soup and placed it on the table.
Eliza, you’re awake? Perfect timing, my meal is ready, come eat.”
Eliza had been with him for so long but had never seen him cook before.
n the past, he avoided the kitchen because of the grease and always shut the kitchen door ightly.
You have to shut the kitchen door when you cook at home from now on! I can’t stand even a bi of grease smell and you know that! Eliza, are you trying to make me sick?”
But now, he was wearing an apron and cooking himself.
She coldly looked at Edward, “You kidnapped me? Aren’t you afraid the Hall Family will catch you again? They won’t find out at home. Eliza, I specially decorated this house according to your

preferences. Do you like it?”
“This is nothing but self–deception. Stop this, Edward.”
Edward just stared deeply at Eliza, saying nothing.
“Soon, Jason will find out I’m here. He’ll come for me.”
Suddenly, Edward laughed, “I know you’re with Jason, so I’ve already made preparations.”
He stepped closer to Eliza, wrapping her tightly in his arms and whispered gently in her ear “They’re all stretched too thin right now. Let Jason take care of the Clark Family first.”
Eliza’s alarm bells rang loudly, “What have you done?”
“Nothing much, just planted quite a few bombs near their house and also planted some here in the gallery.”
“Edward, you’ve gone mad!”
His eyes bloodshot, flickering with a hint of madness, “Yes, I’m mad! If you completely leave me, I’ll go even crazier!”
Eliza took a deep breath, “Edward, let the Clark Family go. Whatever you want to do, I’ll agree to
it.”
