After hearing all this, Aria finally remembered the faint traces of Julian in her past.
She’d dismissed him as just another of Alexander’s friends back then, never giving it a second thought.
Now, listening to Julian’s confession, she felt touched but uneasy.
Did she deserve such sincere love?
She didn’t love him that deeply yet.
The relationship with Alexander had drained her completely, leaving her insecure and damaged.
She was terrified of giving her whole heart again only to end up shattered by Julian.
She couldn’t waste another six years of her life.
Julian sensed her vulnerability and took her hand, interlacing their fingers.
His warmth spread through her hand to her heart.
“Don’t be scared,” he said gently. “Not every relationship needs a perfect ending. If the love dies, we part ways. Simple as that.”
“Besides, you’re amazing. You deserve my love–I give it freely. You deserve all the best things in the world.”
His gaze remained soft, warm enough to melt any ice.
Aria stayed quiet, but her eyes showed she was moved.
Watching this, Alexander felt like his heart was being stabbed.
He stared at their intertwined fingers, almost bursting with rage.
“Aria, he’s totally wrong,” Alexander shouted desperately. “Love isn’t about letting go. When you truly love someone, you’re not some freakin‘ saint! You want them glued to your side every damn second!”
He fought back tears as bitter jealousy threatened to drown him.
So this was how it felt to watch someone you love with someone else…
How had Aria endured this all those times?
He could barely stand to think about it.
But the image of her confronting him with red, tear–filled eyes flashed in his mind.
She had questioned him, raged at him, broken down completely.
Back then, he’d found her outbursts annoying. Compared to Savannah’s sweet compliance, Aria’s reactions had irritated him.
He’d even wondered why she couldn’t be like other men’s wives–calm and understanding.
Now that he was experiencing the same pain, he finally understood.
Alexander grabbed Aria desperately, pulling her against him like he had countless times before, about to crash his lips against hers in a frantic kiss.
Crack!
The sharp sound of a slap rang out as Aria’s palm connected with his face, turning his head sideways.
“It’s over, Alexander. We’re divorced. I don’t love you anymore! And I reject your entire warped idea of love!”

Alexander didn’t move. The porcelain shattered against his face, slicing his skin open. Blood flowed freely down his cheek
He seemed not to feel the pain, making no sound, his eyes fixed only on Aria.
