Chapter 8
Camden stumbled into the wedding hall, still banged up–bruises all over, limping like a wounded dog,
His eyes were wrecked with sadness as he stared at me.
“Brielle, I screwed up.”
“I was blind as a bat back then–didn’t cherish you. I can’t just stand here and watch you marry someone else.”
“Just… just give me one more shot.”
I only found it absolutely ridiculous. Coolly, I casually looked away and took Sebastian’s hand right in front of him.
“Camden, you got a fever or hit the bottle too hard?”
“Can’t you see I’m getting married? And you’re Viviana’s fiancé–wrong bride, dude.”
“I’m not wrong!”
Camden cut me off, all worked up. He frantically dug around in his pocket and pulled out his phone.
“I’ve always loved you–look! Even my phone’s lock screen password is your birthday.”
“I’ll admit I lied to your parents back then.”
“I never took care of you out of pity, and I never saw you as just a sister. From the moment I first laid eyes on you, I
was head over heels.”
“Brielle, I was played by Viviana’s fake–sweet act this whole time–that’s why I kept giving you hell.”
“And in our past life…”
Camden’s words came to a dead stop. His eyes turned red as he looked at me.
“I know you were reborn too, right?”
“In our past life, we were married. Ten years, happy as hell. You loved me so much.”
I took a step back. “I have no clue what you’re talking about.”
Camden went completely nuts, trying to drag me away in front of all the guests.
“I know you’re only marrying Sebastian to piss me off.”
“I’ll take you away right now, okay? I’ll give you the grandest wedding…”

Chapter 8
Before I could say a word, Camden lunged forward to grab my wrist, but Sebastian blocked him like a wall.
“Touch her and see what happens.”
“Brielle is my wife.”
He added coldly, “Camden, are you saying you want to openly pick a fight with the Cross family?”
Camden’s face went white as a sheet.
His assistant trailed behind, begging: ” Boss, you can’t mess with Miss Sterling. Let’s head back.”
Camden couldn’t stop staring at me, his fists clenching and unclenching.
His voice was shaking.
“Brielle, are you really sure you want to marry him?”
I nodded.
“Of course. I chose him myself–why else would I be here?”
Camden turned even paler, like all the blood had drained from his face. He let out a bitter laugh. “My bad. Sorry to interrupt.”
Then he staggered out of everyone’s sight, looking like a total mess.
Apart from that little drama, the wedding went off without a hitch.
That same day, our wedding made headlines that day, trending like crazy.
Everyone was scratching their heads, wondering why Sebastian–a perfectly good heir to a fortune–would run off o become the Sterling family’s live–in husband.
Sure, the Sterlings were wealthy, but compared to the Cross family? They were small potatoes.
even got pushed to the top of the trending list.
Netizens went wild: “What kind of drop–dead gorgeous looks the Sterling family’s eldest daughter? How did she make Sebastian Cross fall for her?”
But he protected me really well.
As for Camden–word was that after he left the wedding, he went to settle the score with Viviana.
He blamed her for lying, stabbed her right in the heart.
When he was burying the body, he was so out of it that a car came out of nowhere and mowed him down.

They say he died on the spot.
When that news hit, I just glanced at it briefly and kept scrolling.
I was pretty busy after all–other people’s drama wasn’t really my problem.
After Sebastian became the Sterling family’s live–in son–in–law, he used all his resources to build me up. In just two years, I became the CEO of Sterling Corporation.
As Mom and Dad handed over power, they stopped treating me like trash–now they kissed up to me, even asked my
opinion.
They finally saw Viviana’s true colors.
“Brielle, your mom and dad were old fools. All these years, we got played by Viviana.”
Mom’s face was all gentle and loving as she poured me a cup of coffee.
“Your dad got drunk one day and wanted to check the security footage to see you. That’s when he discovered what really happened when Viviana fell down the stairs.”
“She totally threw herself down those stairs on purpose, then pinned it on you.”
Mom and Dad were getting older. They knew I wasn’t the same Brielle they could beat up and kick out of the house
anymore.
So now they’d become all sweetie and caring, thoughtful and gentle.
“My precious baby, we finally realize how much we put you through all these years.”
“Mom and Dad are going to make it up to you.”
Funny how the world gets nice when you’re powerful–even parents who used to look down on you turn into teddy
bears.
I casually sipped my coffee, and looked out the window, smiling.
‘It’s fine. That’s all in the past.”
Only the strong have the balls to say the past is behind them.
And I refuse to be weak.
