Chapter 159
Chapter 159
The moment the thought surfaced, even Valerie couldn’t quite tell what she felt.
Instinct told her she should be happy, relieved, or even joyful, but none of those emotions were actually present.
In fact, it felt fishy.
She thought, ‘There’s no way this guy would actually get divorced.
‘He’s testing me!‘
Valerie pressed down the wild thumping of her heart, met his eyes, and asked cautiously, “Then how much alimony are you planning to give me??
Aiden had been watching her reactions the whole time. When he heard that, he let out a disbelieving laugh, “What?”
Valerie braced herself, puffed out her chest a little, and said righteously, “We’re getting divorced–you’ve got to give me alimony. If not…I won’t divorce you!”
Aiden suddenly felt oddly relaxed. Even the cold edge in his eyes eased as he replied with a half–smile, “So how much would it take for you to agree to the divorce?”
Valerie tilted her head, thought for a moment, and said, “At the very least, it has to be a few million.”
He probed, “How much is a few million?”
She answered, “At least… at least 70 million dollars! The house you’re living in right now is worth that much!”
“You want that house?” Aiden asked.
Valerie knew Aiden liked that house–it was close to the office, not far from home, and more importantly, the surroundings and amenities were excellent.
He wasn’t someone who liked to change things he’d grown used to.
She deliberately said, “Yeah. Are you giving it to me or not?”
He asked, “If I give it to you, you’ll divorce me?”
“If you give it, I’ll divorce you!” she answered.
Aiden chuckled lowly, then suddenly pushed her cocky little head down, trapping it in his arms. He refused, “Not giving it.”
Valerie’s confidence crumbled instantly as she was locked in his embrace. She could hear the strong rhythm of his heartbeat in his chest. She tried to squirm away but couldn’t budge. Annoyed, she said, “Try me if you dare!”
“Oh, I will,” Aiden pulled her back suddenly, leaning his upper body over hers. His voice dropped low. “Divorce is never happening. But if you want that house… maybe you could try another method.”
He pressed her against the back seat. Their bodies were so close; and as Valerie accidentally caught a glimpse of the rearview mirror, she realized just how tangled together they looked–intimate and inseparable.
Realising this, her face flushed red in an instant.
Valerie shifted slightly, trying to struggle, but Ajden didn’t move an inch. With no other choice, she asked, “What other method?”
Aiden raised his hand, gently tracing the smooth line of her jaw as he whispered, “For example, by pleasing me.”
‘Pleasing him… to get a house worth 70 million dollars?‘ she thought.

“That’s beyond my wildest dreams!” Valerie thought,
Yet as she faced Aiden’s slightly expectant gaze, she couldn’t bring herself to back down. Blushing furiously, the leaned in and gave us the
Aiden raised his eyebrows and asked, “That’s it?”
Valerie’s face burned hotter. She instinctively glanced at the rearview mirror again and saw Lennox still driving, expressionless and focused as if he hadn’t noticed a single thing–so professional it was like they were invisible to him.
Noticing Valerie’s little glance, Aiden deliberately shifted slightly and said, “What, want to admire how close we look in the mirror?”
Valerie shook her head immediately and instinctively tried to pull away.
But Aiden had already wrapped his arm
around her and leaned in for a kiss.
The kiss was so deep that Valerie har
ength to resist. By the time he let her go, she was completely out of breath…
Her face was bright red.
At that moment, she thought, ‘I forgot to change my pad… I hope it’s not leaking.
‘That would be so embarrassing…‘
When she got out of the car, she walked with a bit of an awkward posture, subtly covering her backside until she finally slipped into the house and could
relax.
After handling her period, Valerie came out and heard Aiden on the phone.
He was sitting on the sofa, casually leaning back with one leg crossed. He gave a cold scoff and said, “Since they want this opportunity so badly, then let
them have it.”
His tone was icy, brimming with menace.
He lounged there lazily and added, “I want to see whether giving them this chance will actually allow them to knock me off my throne.”
His entire presence screamed authority–completely in control, unshakable, as if no matter how others schemed, they could never touch his position.
The slanted evening sun poured in, casting a golden light over him/making his already powerful aura even more magnetic.
Valerie couldn’t help but lose focus. Her heart pounded wildly as she thought, “No wonder his reputation is so awful, yet women still throw themselves
at him.
‘It’s not just his wealth, status, or fame–this dangerously attractive face must count for at least fifty percent of it.‘
As if sensing her gaze, Aiden looked her way.
Valerie snapped out of it just then. But when she met his slightly amused eyes, she felt a little flustered. Pretending to stay calm, she walked over to him
Aiden hung up quickly. Valerie asked, “When did you/first get to know me?”
He had clearly expected that question. He reached out, took a lock of her long hair, lifted it to his nose and gently sniffed it, eyes narrowing slightly as h answered, “From the moment I first saw you.”
“And when was that?” she asked.
The first time she’d seen him had been because of their marriage.
But she didn’t believe the first time he’d seen her had also been the wedding.

*The name bounded familiar, like I’ve heard it somewhere before..!
But Valerie was certain she’d never been there and there was no way he could have seen her there.
A bit confused, she said, “Did you maybe mistake me for someone else?”
Aiden sniffed the hair at her temple and asked, “You mean i married the wrong woman? Hmm?”
The way he sniffed her made her face heat up and tickle a little. She explained, “Well, it’s not impossible… I mean, I’ve never been to that place. I’ve never even been on a plane before–how could I have been on a cruise ship?”
“You really did forget everything… Aiden muttered to himself, pinched her cheek gently, and said, “What a heartless Sttle thing you are.”
Valerie felt even more confused.
But Aiden clearly had no intention of explaining further. He dropped the topic almost immediately.
Still, Durelia Cruise Ship–that name stuck in Valerie’s mind. The moment she and Aiden separated, she opened her browser and searched for it.
But the results came up blank.
There was nothing on Google.
Valerie was sure it wasn’t that simple. Eventually, through various obscure forums, she found a few keywords: source of sin, gathering place of demons.
hell.
The moment she read those words, bloody and disturbing images flashed through her mind like lightning–dark, twisted, and gone in an instant. A chill ran down her spine. .
She wondered, ‘What kind of place… is this, really?‘
