Chapter 55
Lizzie reached up and scratched her little nose, “You’re so smart.”
The commotion around attracted passersby nearby, people gathered from all directions, craning their necks, with curious looks on their faces.
Lizzie tried to move the wheelchair forward, but the wheels got stuck. She looked down and saw the wheels were crooked, obviously completely damaged from the impact just now.
Terrence took long strides and walked up to Lizzie. He grabbed the broken wheelchair’s deformed armrest and dragged it, along with her and the little girl, to the side.
A sharp pain shot through Lizzie’s back, and she instinctively reached out to touch it, feeling something wet and sticky.
Looking down, her fingertips were stained with dark red. It seems her back was scratched by something when she bumped

Way.
A warm feeling passed through Lizzie’s heart, as if the pain on her back had faded a bit.
However, Lizzie was hurt in the back, she found that she couldn’t call out like this, so she twisted her little body to go down.
Below is all the clutter, Lizzie was afraid she would trip over it, so she quickly picked her up, booped her little nose, “I’m Lizzie, what’s your name?”
The little girl said earnestly, “My name is Vivian Murphy.”
Lizzie was amused by the little girl, the laughter tugged at her wound, and she couldn’t help but let out a soft sigh.
Before Vivian’s attention shifted back to her own injuries, she said again. “I’ll take you to find the police, let them help you find your dad, okay?”
Terrence’s gaze fell on her bloodstained fingertips, then swept over her pale face, his brow furrowing almost imperceptibly.
“Let’s go to the hospital first,” his voice was deep, with an unmistakable tone of command.
Lizzie shook her head.
“This little injury is no big deal, let’s first take the child to the police station, it’s important to find her family…”
Terrence ignored her rebuttal and gave orders to Jarred.
“You stayed here waiting for the police, explained the situation, handed the trafficker over to them, and contacted the child’s family.”

Jarred immediately stood up straight, saluted, and said, “Yes!”
Terrence turned to look at Lizzie, and even though he didn’t say anything, his expression was like, “you can’t say no.”
He reached out his hand, as if he wanted to bring the little girl over.
“I took you to the hospital.”
The little girl immediately buried her face in Lizzie’s arms, her little arms tightly wrapped around her neck, refusing to let go.
“No, I want Lizzie to hold me…”
Terrence’s hand froze in midair.
He glanced at the little girl snuggling close to Lizzie, and then at the obvious discomfort in Lizzie’s legs and the wounds on her back.
Lizzie reached out her hand, wanting to use his help to stand up.

Terrence bent down quickly, arm through Lizzie’s legs, the other avoiding the wound, securely holding her back.
He didn’t even seem to exert any effort, just scooped up Lizzie and the little girl in his arms.
Lizzie was caught off guard, she screamed and instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck to steady herself.

Too close.
She could feel the solid muscles of his arms and his steady, strong heartbeat.
Her heart started beating irregularly for no reason.
Terrence carried the two of them, walked quickly to the back seat of the car, opened the door, and carefully put them in.
The little girl still held onto Lizzie tightly.
Terrence closed the back door, walked around to the front, and got into the driver’s seat.
The car started quickly and smoothly drove away from the scene.
Glenna squeezed into the mall, even though it was already afternoon, there were still a lot of people in the mall.
Glenna pointed out the money needed, handed it to the cashier, and then left with her things.
Just as she was squeezing out, someone accidentally stepped on her foot.
“Oh no… Hey, isn’t that Glenna?”
Glenna looked up and saw it was her neighbor.
She smiled at that neighbor, nodded, and then walked out of the mall.
