Glenna knew that.
Just the thought of Lizzie possibly going to Hurlton all alone so far away made her feel sad.
Lizzie was casual. “I haven’t gone yet, just said I might, but I’m not leaving for now.”
17.00
Lizzie raised her wrist and checked the time, “Glenna, you gotta go to work now, you’re running late.”
“I’ll take you back.” Glenna hurriedly pushed Lizzie.
Lizzie held her hand and said, “I can go back by myself, you don’t need to worry about me. If we don’t leave now, we’ll lose our pay.”
Lizzie said so, then Glenna left in a hurry.
Watching her walk away, Lizzie soaked up some sun for a bit before wheeling back.
At the same time, Johanna went to the train station to pick up a group of people who got off the train.
The train whistle pierced through the noisy platform. The smell of coal smoke mixed with the crowd’s scent, hitting you in the face.
Theron’s mother, Vanessa Conley, and Jasmin Howland, carrying bags big and small, squeezed off the train with the crowd.
Both of them were wearing navy blue polyester jackets, which were
bit wrinkled from being squeezed in the car, looking dusty and giving

off a smell of dirt.
Vanessa stood still and started looking around, muttering under her breath.
“Where’s Lizzie? Where did she run off to! We called her to let her know we’re coming today, but she didn’t show up early to pick us up. not a trace of her in sight!”
Her voice was high and sharp, attracting the attention of people nearby.
“And there she was, wanting to be the Howland family’s daughter–in- law. Ha! She really needed to get her act together, how could she take care of Theron like this!”
She spat in dissatisfaction and dragged Jasmin, who was looking around aimlessly.
“Something that is not raised by a mother is just not likeable, always making excuses when asked to do something. Earlier, I asked her to introduce her brother Aedan to you, it would have been great. But she refused, treating Aedan like some precious treasure!”
Vanessa remembered the old things, and she was so angry that she couldn’t help but gloat in the end.
“So what happened? Ended up being a short–lived ghost!”
Jasmin immediately chimed in with a hint of sarcastic joy on her face.
“Yeah, mom, luckily it didn’t happen back then. Otherwise, I would have been a widow now!”
“Hmph! Maybe it’s because this thing didn’t work out that Aedan died young!”
Vanessa cursed again, no one answered the call, she was even more
annoyed.
Not far away, Johanna was holding a black and white photo, comparing it to the faces of people coming and going on the platform.
Finally, her gaze settled on the mother and daughter, and her brow furrowed slightly.
A sense of disgust surged up, but she quickly suppressed the discomfort, put on a faint smile, and then walked towards the mother and daughter.
They were still craning their necks and looking around, trying to spot. Theron or Lizzie in the crowd.
Suddenly, a pretty girl in a stylish dress, with a faint fragrance, stood in front of them.
This girl stood out from the dull crowd around her.
Vanessa and Jasmin couldn’t help but sneak a few more glances.
Jasmin tugged on Vanessa’s sleeve, whispered in a low voice, but her eyes were still glued to that girl’s clothes.
“Mom, look at what she’s wearing, so stylish! Can you make me an outfit like that too, very trendy.”
Vanessa immediately gave her a glare and replied grumpily.
“What are you looking at? Looks like it’s made of expensive fabric, very luxurious!”
She looked the girl up and down.
“Besides, these clothes look weird on you, totally out of place.”

Johanna stood there as they talked behind her back, being very rude and disrespectful. She almost couldn’t hold back her smile, and her fingers tightened slightly around the photo.
She suppressed the uncomfortable emotions in her heart, the fake smile on her face became even stronger, and she asked in a gentle voice, “Excuse me, are you Mr. Howland’s mother and sister?”
Vanessa and Jasmin then turned their attention back to the girl in front of them, with a look of confusion and a hint of caution on their faces.
Johanna saw the situation and calmly handed over the black and white photo in her hand.
The photo shows a somewhat reserved Vanessa and Jasmin.
“I’m Johanna, a friend of Mr. Howland. He couldn’t make it today because of some last–minute issues, so he asked me to come and pick you up.”
She spoke sincerely, her gaze fixed on Vanessa, with a perfectly curved smile, elegant and pretty.
