Chapter 166
Kamilla grinned evilly as she silently closed her bedroom door. Throwing her bag on the bed, the tossed her head back and cackled.
Viktor was currently being question by her mom in the kitchen and oh, what joy! Nobody could totally destroy their opponent in an argument filen her mon
She knew she shouldn’t have, but Kamilla went ahead and put Viktor right at the mouth of the lion’s cave, Hell, she’d tossed him right into the hors mouth! He deserved at least something of the sort after all he put her through. Cancelling her registration was the last straw!
Grinning, she skipped over to her closet and dragged her jeans off. She’d showered and changed in Onyx before heading home, with the shower hering talen two hours because someone had insisted on showering together to “save water“,
Sighing in contentment, Kamilla tugged on an extra–large woolen jersey that reached mid–thigh and put on long fuzzy socks before taking a few minutes to wash her face and brush her teeth in the bathroom.
Travelling from Onyx to the States or to England always left her feeling like she’d gone literally from one end of the world to another, hence the urge to wash up.
All freshened up, Kamilla eagerly tip–toed to her bedroom door and cracked it open. Grinning like the Grinch, she strained her ears to listen.
Was he repenting yet? Were his ears bleeding from the scolding? She could barely hold in her delight!
Biting her lip, she tip–toed down the hallway and toward the kitchen.
When the warm, aroma–filled room came into view across the living room, Kamilla froze.
She tilted her head at the sight. She couldn’t hear what they were saying in hushed tones to one another, but just the sight of them did something to her heart.
Viktor was huge compared to her mother and his all black outfit beside Adelaide’s yellow sundress, pink cheeks and smiley face apron was oddly pleasing. He had both hands folded between his thighs, listening attentively to whatever her mother was explaining with elaborate gestures. It looked like Jack had invited the giant for tea and he was currently entranced by the little person’s storytelling.
Kamilla snorted at her own comparison and slowly approached the kitchen. She sighed with a smile. Oh, how precious they looked with-
“…broken, yes, she broke his arm!” said Adelaide with wide eyes.
Kamilla froze a step away from the kitchen entrance. Oh, no. Not that story again.
“The boy hadn’t been teasing her for even ten minutes before she was sitting on his back and pulling his hair out!”
Kamilla narrowed her eyes. She’d been eleven–years–old! And that snot–nosed boy had been getting on her nerves for days, calling her an ugly alien, so of course when he’d tried to escape from the consequences of his actions, it was only right for her to push him! He’d then tried to push her back, but she’d ducked and he missed. Too bad he broke his arm when he fell. At least she could be sure he never tried to bully anyone ever again. Anyway, it wasn’t her fault!
Viktor shook his head, looking utterly shocked. “Unbelievable. Kamilla’s always been like that?”
Her mom nodded gravely, pouring them more tea in the cute little tea cups. “She has. That’s why, although very sorry, I’m not surprised that she put you through so much.”
Kamilla’s jaw fell open.
Viktor suddenly looked unbearably sad. “One time she punched me in the face over and over until I bled.”
Kamilla’s jaw was practically on the floor now
Adelaide gasped. “You poor dear! How did you put up with her?”
Releasing a breath of disbelief, Kamilla stomped in, making them both turn to face her. “Excuse me?!” she said loudly. “I can hear you, you know?!” She
