“Get up and give me your seat!” Alan roared.
Sophia put on an innocent look and said, “You want to give me money for my treatment? That’s very kind of you. I’m not just hard of hearing I’ve got heart problems, stomach issues, gout, arthritis, liver cirrhosis, and even epilepsy.
“I’m wearing this mask because I’ve got tuberculosis. I’m barely an adult and already a walking medical textbook. Life is really giving me the short end of the stick.”
Alan was left speechless, and the entire carriage fell silent in shock.
A sudden snicker broke out. Only then did Alan realize that Sophia had been playing him for a fool. Furious and humiliated, he raised his hand to strike her.
Sophia suddenly clutched her chest, doubling over in a violent coughing fit.
Coughing in pain, she staggered backward, her body convulsing uncontrollably, which instantly scared everyone around her.
She coughed and trembled at the same time, then suddenly lunged forward and grabbed Alan’s clothes. “My heart hurts. Am I dying? No, I’m still young, and there are a lot of things I haven’t done.
“Please, take my body to my parents after I die. They’ll be grateful. Please help me, okay?”
After the coughing fit, Sophia convulsed and went completely still.
Alan was freaked out. He panicked the moment she kept coughing and clutching his clothes like that.
Alan yanked his clothes free from Sophia’s grasp and bolted forward, vanishing into the crowd in an instant.
The entire carriage fell into stunned silence.
Sophia snapped back to normal in an instant, head lowered and arms folded as if nothing happened. Safely concealed behind her sun hat and mask, her identity remained a mystery.
However, someone recognized her.

Nadia walked into the dorm alone. Seeing that Sophia wasn’t around, Vivienne immediately put on airs and sneered. “Hey, brown–noser, why are you here alone? Where’s Sophia?”
Nadia ignored her and sat down. Worried about negative comments about Sophia, she took out her phone and started scrolling through the forum, only to stumble upon a viral post that was blowing up.
She tapped into the post and found a video. The moment she hit play, her eyes went wide in shock.
Others might not have recognized it, but Nadia knew instantly. She thought, ‘This sun hat, mask, and outfit look familiar. Wait, isn’t that Sophia? Why is she-‘
Nadia sat there, utterly stunned. The video had long since stopped playing, and no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn’t wrap her head around the fact that the person in the video was Sophia.
“Hey, I’m talking to you. Are you deaf or what?” It wasn’t until Vivienne kicked her chair that Nadia snapped back to reality.
She didn’t even glance at Vivienne, who was deliberately provoking her. Instead, she just grabbed her phone and walked out to the balcony.
Repeatedly ignored, Vivienne stared at Nadia who was right on her phone, her eyes flashing with a vicious gleam.

Sophia had just stepped off the subway when Nadia’s call came through. The crowd was massive, but immersed in the tively chaos, she somehow felt glad to be alive.
“What’s up?” Sophia said.
Nadia stammered hesitantly, “Sophia, have you seen the campus forum? Someone posted a video of you faking illness on the subway to scare an old
man.”
Sophia stopped on her track. “Did someone recognize me?”
Nadia said, “Well, not that I know of.”
Sophia replied, “Got it.”
After hanging up, Sophia headed toward the Chandler residence.
Yvette sat with Heather, chatting and laughing. Seeing Sophia come back, she suddenly panicked.
Heather froze for a second before beaming with joy. “Sophia, I’m glad you’re back.”
Sophia didn’t even glance at Heather. She hurled her bag onto the couch, snatched the knife from the coffee table, and lunged at Yvette.
