Jessica had a dream that seemed to go on forever that night.
In her dream, she was still a toddler, just over a year old, stumbling and wobbling on her tiny feet as she tried to walk.

“Miss Jessica,” said Monica, gently shaking her. “Miss Jessica, wake up! It’s getting late. Today, you need to escort the Askar delegation out of the city. Garbisch is waiting for you! Miss Jessica, wake up, please!”
Rubbing her bleary eyes, Jessica slowly opened them to find Monica standing by her bedside, her face etched with worry.
“Monica…?” Jessica furrowed her brow, her voice thick with sleep. “What’s… going on?”
Suddenly, Jessica bolted upright in bed. “What time is it now?” she blurted out, her voice tinged with panic.
Monica said anxiously, “It’s already past eight.”
Jessica bolted upright in panic. “Monica, get my toiletries ready, quick!”
“Everything’s ready, Miss Jessica. I’ve picked out your outfit, too. Hurry up!”
As Monica helped her wash and dress, she asked with a hint of concern, “Miss Jessica, you’ve never been one to sleep in. What kept you in bed so late today? Did something happen last night?”
Startled while washing her face, Jessica’s cheeks instantly flushed crimson.
“No… Nothing happened,” Jessica stammered, her cheeks flushed. “Maybe I’m just tired lately.”
