Chapter 6
Watching Jacob’s confident demeanor, I let out a cold laugh. I couldn’t understand what made him think he was more valuable than a general’s daughter.
Seeing me smile, Jacob breathed a sigh of relief and reached out to take my hand. “Kennedy, I knew you had feelings for me. You’d do anything for me.”
I shook off Jacob’s hand and strode back to Alexander and Valentina’s side.
At that moment, Ariana appeared extremely confident, pulling on Valentina’s hand and acting coquettish.
Seeing me return, Ariana nodded at me and immediately spoke up: “Dad, Mom, the name on the SAT paper was just a joke between Kennedy and me. We made a bet to swap names when taking the test, which is why this misunderstanding occurred. Right, Kennedy?”
Facing everyone’s probing gazes, I shook my head. “No, that test paper is mine.”
Ariana hadn’t expected me to change my mind at the last minute and was furious. “Kennedy, you bitch! What did you promise me? I’m the daughter of a garment factory owner. Since dare treat me this way, I’m firing you right now!”
you
Ariana. “Didn’t you already fire me once when I was being falsely accused earlier?”
Ariana’s gaze was vicious, as if she wanted to kill me. But as soon as she stepped forward, the security guard positioned himself in front of me.
Seeing the armed security guard, Ariana stomped her feet in frustration but couldn’t harm me.
Seeing that I wouldn’t help Ariana, Aurora and Jacob nearby were delighted.
Aurora said with a smile, “Kennedy, hurry up and tell them that test paper belongs to me.”
I rolled my eyes. “You slandered me in public and even wanted to strip off my clothes. Tell me, why should I give up my identity to you?”
Aurora’s face instantly turned pale, while Jacob was shocked and immediately argued, “Kennedy, stop playing dumb. That test paper belongs to Aurora. She deliberately wrote your name on it to help you. How can you deny it?”
I burst out laughing and questioned, “Since you insist on saying that, Aurora, what did you write for the Essay Test? What’s the answer to the last question on the Math Test?”
Aurora couldn’t answer my questions and became furious, wanting to hit me.
The security guard immediately blocked her path, stopping her.
Aurora lost her balance and reached out to steady herself.
Seeing the bracelet on her exposed wrist, Alexander and Valentina immediately stood up. “Where did you get that bracelet?”
Aurora was confused but quickly caught on. She cried, “This was given to me by my mother before I got separated from my parents.”
I looked at Jacob in shock, while he guiltily avoided my gaze.
This bracelet was the only thing Alexander and Valentina had left me to prove my identity. It had suddenly gone missing recently, and no matter how hard I searched, I couldn’t find it.
I had asked Jacob about it, but he said he’d never seen it.
I never expected that Jacob had stolen the bracelet and given it to Aurora.
Furious, I grabbed Aurora’s arm and immediately tried to snatch the bracelet back.
