Chapter39
Colton scratched his head awkwardly, “I–I was just happy, talking to mom, not to anyone else.”
Glenna looked at Lizzie with concern, “Lizzie is doing translation and working at Redstar Factory, can she handle it all?”
Emery rubbed his sore eyes from staring too much, “Yeah, Lizzie, can you help out?”
He looked at it for a while, and his eyes hurt so much. Lizzie hasn’t rested since she came back.^
“The Redstar Factory thing, didn’t take long, wasn’t tiring.”
Glenna disagreed, “You’re young, but you need to be careful with your eyes.”
Lizzie nodded, “I won’t do it after dinner, thank you, Glenna.”
Glenna nodded and went to the kitchen wearing an apron.
Colton put down the pen and went to help out.
Theron went back to the hospital, grabbed some food for Johanna at the cafeteria, and then headed to the ward.
He pushed open the ward door.
Johanna was sitting on the hospital bed, reading a book.
Her face was still pale as hell, but she kept on studying, looking weak yet strong, reminding him of Efren.
Efren was also positive and strong–willed, just like that.
They were indeed birds of a feather, with similar characters.
“Johanna, are you hungry? I know you don’t have much of an appetite, but for the baby, eat a little more.”
Johanna heard a sound, she turned her head and saw Theron, with a perfect mix of concern and vulnerability in her
eyes.
“Theron, you’re back? What happened to your face…”
Theron touched the place where Lizzie hit him and said, “It’s okay, Lizzie was just angry.”
Johanna looked at Theron’s swollen half face, it wasn’t just a temper tantrum.
She couldn’t help but feel sorry and said, “Lizzie went too far this time. You’ve been so nice to her, but she not only threw a tantrum, but also hit you. You have to go to the office area tomorrow, what if someone sees it? She’s just so immature…”

Chapter39
“Johanna,” Theron cut her off.
Johanna was taken aback. “In the past, whenever I said this, Theron never stopped me.”
Theron pursed his thin lips.
The pain on his face made him realize clearly Lizzie’s determination. Compared to the pain on his face, there was a dull ache in his heart like a thorn stuck in it.
“Johanna.”
Johanna gripped the book tightly, crumpling the pages in her hand.
She had a bad feeling.
Sure enough, Theron said the next second, “I will explain to Anton that the research I thought she didn’t want, I for- warded it to you, and I didn’t expect you to submit the research report together.”

When Theron said that, Johanna’s fingers clenched tighter, she was so close to getting angry and throwing the book on the ground!
Once Theron explained the reason, she was fired, and Lizzie stayed. So all her efforts and disguises before were all in
vain!
How would people at Equinox Research Laboratory see her?
She finally made it to where she is today!
Hatred wrapped around her heart like vines, almost suffocating her in an instant.
Lizzie! It’s all Lizzie!
Why didn’t she just die!
But in front of Theron, she had to maintain a calm and composed attitude. She gave a resigned smile on her face – “It should have been like this.”
She was stating the facts, but the more she stayed calm and didn’t argue, the more Theron felt guilty towards her, feel- ing sorry for Efren.
Johanna slightly lowered her head, revealing a delicate and fragile neck, her voice as soft as a feather brushing by.
“I caused trouble for you, but I didn’t mean to argue with Lizzie. I was just worried about the kids…”
She covered her stomach and when she looked up again, there was a forced, bitter smile on her face.
“As long as Lizzie can calm down, I don’t care what happens.”
She spoke gently and carried herself gracefully, as if she had been greatly wronged by the heavens, yet still chose to consider others.
Theron’s heart, softened.

“Don’t worry about work, I’ll figure out a way to rearrange something more suitable for you.”
Johanna didn’t want to. She had only been in high school for a month when her father pulled her back home and forced her to marry an old man.
Her education wasn’t much higher than Lizzie’s, and she didn’t work as hard as Lizzie to improve herself.
Change job, she definitely wouldn’t do well!
But at that moment she couldn’t show it, she just gave a faint pale and fragile smile, with a touch of understanding and acceptance.
That smile, like a white lotus blooming after the rain, clean and endearing.
“Okay, I got it. As long as Lizzie calms down, I don’t care what happens. As long as you guys are okay, I’ll be re- lieved.”
