He grunted heavily, reluctantly agreeing.
“Liz, don’t go easy on him.”
Lizzie smiled and said, “No way.”
She didn’t want to go through all that again in her past life, never forgive, never look back.
Emery told her, and the three of them entered the courtyard.
Emery pushed the wheelchair, he wasn’t very good at it, and when he reached the threshold of the living room, the wheels did get stuck for a moment.
Theron almost instinctively reached out to push Lizzie.
“I’m coming.”
“No need for you!” Emery abruptly turned to the side, blocking his hand, with a cold tone.
Lizzie also reached out to help Emery, “I can walk these few steps by myself.”
“Alright.”
Emery grabbed the crutch by the door and handed it to Lizzie. He helped her up carefully and guided her to sit at the
table.
“I’ll be outside, just shout if you need anything!”
Lizzie nodded, and he turned around to retreat into the yard.
Footsteps stopped just outside the door, not far away. He couldn’t hear the conversation inside, but if Lizzie called him, he could hear it clearly and quickly come in, afraid that Lizzie would suffer any more grievances.
Lizzie felt Emery’s unreserved protection, making the corners of her mouth unconsciously turn up.
Just as the faint curve had just appeared, it disappeared without a trace the moment she turned to face Theron.
Her face was covered with a layer of frost again.
“Okay, you can go ahead now.”
Theron stood up straight, with his posture still impeccable. Then he spoke seriously and earnestly, “It’s about Johan- na’s personal privacy, something I wasn’t planning to talk about. But now you’ve got the wrong idea because of this…”
He put on that look of having to break his own principles and make a huge concession in order to consider her feel- ings.

Lizzie looked at him like that, feeling so ironic and disgusting!
Without waiting for Theron to continue elaborating on his “hardships,” I spoke up for him.
“Johanna was pregnant, right?”

Theron suddenly froze, all the prepared explanations about responsibility, helplessness, and hoping she would under- stand and sympathize, all got stuck in his throat.
The determined expression on his face faded in an instant, leaving only complete astonishment and disbelief.
“Who told you that?”
Lizzie sarcastically smirked, “Who needs others to say it? Isn’t Johanna’s behavior obvious enough? Always touching her belly for no reason, constantly complaining of stomach pain, as if afraid no one knows she’s pregnant.”
In her past life, she was blind as a bat, couldn’t see a thing!
Theron heard that, and his body tensed up a bit.
Those images that he deliberately ignored, now flooding into his mind uncontrollably.
Johanna touched her stomach with a pale face; Johanna weakly cried out in pain in front of him; Johanna looked un- comfortable and couldn’t eat.
He always thought she cared too much about that child, and with Efren’s death, being an unmarried woman, she must have been really struggling, that’s why she seemed so weak…
But Johanna’s behavior, it just doesn’t hold up under close scrutiny.
Theron was a researcher, with a keen eye for observation. If he wanted to, it wasn’t hard for him to see through the de- liberate and fake.
He just felt really guilty about Efren’s death, so he subconsciously chose to believe and protect Johanna, without wanting to dig into any possible schemes.
But at this moment, when Lizzie pointed it out so bluntly, the firm defense in his heart cracked for the first time.
However, that crack was just a flash in the pan.
Guilt and the so–called sense of responsibility quickly took over.
He almost immediately defended Johanna, “Johanna is not that kind of person.”
Almost as soon as he finished speaking, Lizzie’s laughter rang out.
Lizzie knew she couldn’t wake up someone pretending to be asleep.
Theron was willing to believe Johanna, willing to be blinded by her, and have nothing to do with her.
“You don’t need to explain to me.”

Theron frowned, this was not what he had in mind.

“I had already guessed she was pregnant. You didn’t submit a marriage application with me because you had already applied to marry her.”
“No way!” Theron immediately denied.
Then he looked at Lizzie affectionately and said, “Johanna is pregnant. I registered to marry her as a temporary solu- tion. The only person I want to spend my life with is you!”
He didn’t quite understand why she cared so much about the marriage certificate, even though he would treat her well.
But as long as she wanted, he could give it to her.
“I have decided to marry you…”
“You married Johanna.”
Lizzie’s voice, though not loud, overshadowed Theron’s voice.
Theron looked surprised, how could she ask him to marry Johanna?
