It was about two weeks ago, on a rainy day.
The air was thick and humid.
Before Nathan got off work, he texted me, saying he had to go out with a client tonight and that I should just stay home.
But not long after, I saw a picture on Zoe’s social media, She was holding hands with Nathan.
The caption read:

I cried all night.
At around three or four in the morning, the hospital called.
It was my dad’s critical condition notice.
I bolted out the door like a lunatic and even tripped coming out of the elevator.
By the time I rushed to the hospital, drenched from the rain, he was already gone.
A white sheet covered him.
I didn’t even get to say goodbye.
