Tristan’s POV
Lysandra’s face drained of color when our eyes met across the terminal. Her grip on the stroller handlebar tightened as she froze mid–step, caught in the headlights of my stare.
“Mommy!” The twins bolted from their seats, racing toward her with uncontained excitement.
I rose to my feet, confusion flooding my system. These children–these spirited, well–spoken kids I’d just been conversing with–belonged to Lysandra?
Kieran materialized beside her, his hand settling possessively at the small of her back. My jaw clenched at the sight of his fingers against her body.
Lyra reached her mother first, throwing her arms around Lysandra’s waist. “Mommy! I met this handsome uncle and he’s from Silverblood Pack and-”
Lysandra’s hand shot out, gently covering her daughter’s mouth. “Lyra, Orion, what are you doing here?” Her voice trembled slightly. “You’re supposed to be at home.”
The boy positioned himself slightly in front of his mother and sister. “We missed you, Mom,” he said, chin tilting upward, “Grandpa said we could come.”
Kieran crouched down, ruffling Orion’s hair with casual intimacy. “Looks like our little surprise arrived early, huh?” He winked at the boy, who didn’t pull away from his touch.
I walked toward them, each step releasing waves of Alpha energy that sent nearby travelers scurrying to the edges of the terminal.
“They’re your children?” I asked, the question emerging harsher than I’d intended.
Kieran straightened, deliberately positioning himself between me and Lysandra. “Alpha Tristan, what a coincidence meeting you here.” His tone remained respectful yet firm. “Yes, these are Lysandra’s children.”
Lysandra’s fingers wrapped around Kieran’s wrist. “We need to go. Now.” She didn’t meet my eyes, focusing instead on pulling the twins closer to her body.
‘Lysandra. Her name escaped me before I could stop it.
She flinched but didn’t stop, steering the children toward another seating area with Kieran at her side. The man named Sam hurried after them, casting nervous glances over his shoulder at me.
Varian appeared beside me, his hand gripping my forearm. “Alpha, there must be another explanation. They can’t possibly be her biological children. Maybe they’re adopted.”
I nodded absently, eyes fixed on Lysandra’s retreating form. That had to be it. Adoption.
But something nagged at me–the girl’s eyes reminded me of Lysandra’s, and the boy’s stubborn chin and

protective stance stirred something familiar I couldn’t quite place.
I returned to our seats, my thoughts spinning wildly. My fingers curled into fists, nails biting into my palms.
My gaze had already found her across the terminal. Lysandra sat with the twins pressed against her sides, her arms wrapped around them both. Kieran occupied the seat beside her, leaning over occasionally to whisper in her ear or ruffle the boy’s hair.
They looked like a family–a complete unit that functioned without me.
My jaw ached from clenching it so hard. Was this what she’d been doing these past five years? Playing house with
Kieran?
All these revelations clouded my thoughts. First Kieran claiming Lysandra as his fiancée, now these children. appearing out of nowhere. I couldn’t make sense of it all.
Then the boarding announcement jolted me from my thoughts. Our flight. I stood, adjusting my suit jacket.
Against my will, my eyes sought her one final time. She was watching me now, her face pale with tension. When our gazes met, she pulled the twins closer to her sides.
Fire sparked in my veins at the gesture. Did she think I would hurt children? What secret was she hiding that made her so protective around me?
I turned away, striding toward the boarding gate. The sooner I returned to Silverblood territory, the sooner I could think clearly about this bizarre encounter.
During the flight, I stared unseeing at the clouds below, replaying the scene in my mind. Maybe she’d met someone immediately after leaving. Maybe they were Kieran’s biological children. Maybe they were adopted.
