Tessa’s face turned deathly pale in an instant. Not just Tessa, even everyone else around was completely stunned by Lennox’s dramatic actions.
“Wait? Did he really uncover her entire background in such a short time?‘ they wondered.
Panic–stricken, Tessa cried out, her voice trembling, “Officer, aaren’t you going to do something?”
The officer was equally stunned and thought to himself, ‘But what could he do? After all, they’re from the Walker Group. Who would dare to intervene?”
After reviewing Tessa’s personal details, Lennox offered a professional, chilling smile and said, “Aiden never bothers with ordinary domestic staff. It’s
beneath him.
“But since you’re so bold, I believe your husband will soon be receiving a rather special surprise. Do enjoy your day.”
Tessa’s face turned extremely pale and her legs gave way beneath her. She shrieked, “W–Who are you? What do you want from me.”
But all Tessa got in response was Lennox’s retreating figure as he walked away without a second glance.
The entire room was left in stunned silence; at that moment, all that remained in their hearts was pure terror.
Elbert muttered in disbelief, “That’s seriously badass.”
Adrienne was equally stunned. She murmured, “So this is the real power of capital.”
“Wow, that’s so cool.”
“Wow, Valerie’s husband is seriously hot.”
“Yeah, I think so.”
“His assistant is smoking hot too.”
“I’m so jealous.”
“Alright, that’s enough. Let’s call it a night.”
Aiden took Valerie to have her wounds treated first. The sting of the medicine made her wince in pain.
With her wounds freshly treated and her face still off–limits to washing, Valerie moved with extra care as she climbed into bed after her shower.
Aiden walked in from outside, still wearing the suit Valerie had stained earlier. He casually tossed his phone onto the sofa and began undoing his buttons.
Valerie hugged her knees as she sat on the bed, watching his elegant, aristocratic movements. She asked curiously, “How’d you get here so fast just
now?”
Aiden casually tossed the clothes he’d just taken off onto the sofa and said offhandedly, “I was just about to pick you up.”
“Pick me up?” Valerie blinked, her voice laced with confusion.
Aiden loosened his tie as he walked toward her, his tone casual as ever. “To bring you home.”
‘Bring me home? It’s so late at night. What could he possibly want, bringing me home at this hour?‘ she wondered.
At the worst possible moment, Valerie’s mind conjured up some seriously inappropriate thoughts.

Chapter 117
‘Okay, get a grip, girl. Right. Valerie thought to herself, “Come to think of it, it’s been ages since Aiden and I last had sex
‘Except for that quickie at the amusement park–where we didn’t even bother getting undressed before that, it’s been over a month, hasn’t it?” she thought.
‘He’s always had a pretty high sex drive. But given his high sex drive, holding out this long must have really pushed him to his limit,” Valerie thought to
herself.
But Aiden clearly had no such intention. He reached out and ruffled her hair, saying in his usual calm tone, “Go to bed early. I’ll take you to school
tomorrow.”
He shrugged off his jacket and strode straight into the bathroom.
Valerie blinked, momentarily thrown. ‘Isn’t he coming?‘ Valerie wondered, a bit surprised. ‘Wait, no? What the hell am I expecting? Ugh, why is my mind always in the gutter?‘
Valerie hid her face in her hands, mortified. Just then, her phone buzzed with a WhatsApp notification.
Grabbing her phone, Valerie opened WhatsApp and found a message from Adrienne.
Adrienne sent a photo. [OMG, the dorm is a complete disaster zone. It’s so messy. How terrible.]
Valerie sent a comforting head–pat emoji and replied: [Why don’t you grab your laptop and check into a hotel to get some rest? Where are you now?]
By the time they got back to the dorm, it was already 10:30 PM. After all the commotion, it was well past 2 AM.
Even at this hour, Adrienne replied instantly: [I’m already at the hotel. Bit the bullet and booked a five–star hotel. Wow, the difference is night and day.]
Valerie laughed. [You’re really funny.]
Adrienne: [Valerie, I can’t take dorm life anymore. Our roommates are impossible to live with, and I can never focus on my writing there. It’s just too noisy. I’ve saved up enough to rent a studio near campus. Want to be roommates?]
Valerie: [Great idea. Given how things are, moving out would be perfect. Apartments near campus probably won’t be too expensive, right?}
Adrienne: [Hehe, I’ve got my eye on Calastie House. It’s a bit pricey though–wanna split the rent with me?]
Valerie chuckled. [Sounds great. I don’t wanna stay in the dorm anymore either. My place is way too far from campus, and commuting is such a hassle.
[Let’s totally get a place together. Should we get a studio, or maybe a one–bedroom apartment? We can share the bedroom and turn the living room into a cozy little home for ourselves.”
Adrienne was so thrilled she literally rolled around on the bed, then immediately sent a voice message. “Valerie, I love yoy. I’ll start looking right away, and once I find something, I’ll take you to see it.”
Valerie: [Okay.]
Adrienne was so excited that she immediately grabbed her laptop and started frantically searching for apartments online.
But as she browsed, the horrifying image of Jasmine lying on the floor, her face purple and bruised, foaming at the mouth, involuntarily flashed through her mind.
A sudden chill ran down Adrienne’s spine, her face turning slightly pale.
Adrienne shuddered inwardly. ‘God, that was absolutely terrifying. In all my life, I’d never come this close to death. Still, why was Valerie so calm and
collected?‘
Valerie calmly and methodically administered first aid to Jasmine, told someone to call the police, and called an ambulance–handling everything with flawless precision.

I’m so jealous of her. She’s just so incredible,” Adrienne thought to herself. She couldn’t help feeling both envious and incredibly fortunate.
‘I can’t believe I get to be friends with someone like her. I’m so damn lucky,‘ she wondered.
After chatting with Adrienne, Valerie was so tired she could barely keep her eyes open. She set her phone aside and drifted off to sleep without even realizing it.
Aiden stepped out of the shower to find the bedroom bathed in the soft glow of a single warm lamp. The muted golden light seemed to slow time itself, wrapping the room in gentle tranquility.
He tiptoed into the room. As he neared the bed, he caught the soft, rhythmic sound of her breathing. She had fallen asleep.
Upon realizing this, even Aiden himself didn’t notice the quiet sigh of relief that escaped him. His typically frosty, impassive expression softened imperceptibly, like winter’s ice thawing in early spring.
Pulling back the covers, Aiden slipped quietly into bed beside her. With gentle movements, he drew her into his arms, enveloping her in his warmth.
Half–asleep, Valerie vaguely sensed the warmth around her growing. Unconsciously, she inched closer to the source, found a cozy spot, and sank back into a deep, peaceful sleep.
The night passed peacefully.
When Valerie woke up, the space beside her still held the lingering warmth.
Valerie instinctively leaned closer and breathed in–that unmistakable masculine scent, so clear, so familiar. But when she reached for the other side of the bed, the sheets were cold to the touch.
‘Did Aiden stay in my bed last night?‘ she wondered, startled. ‘I can’t believe I didn’t even notice.‘
Valerie got out of bed and freshened up. By the time she was done, Camille had already prepared breakfast.
Aiden sat at the dining table, leisurely sipping his coffee. He glanced at her and said, “From now on, you won’t be staying in the dorm.”
