“Christina, what game are you playing this time? I’ve been deceived by you again. You just can’t stop competing with Kristy, can you? Is it even worth it? Hello?”
Luke hung up the phone angrily.
“Christina is always like this! Now she’s even threatening to skip the ceremony!”
He shook his head in frustration.
“Dad, if Mom doesn’t go to the ritual… where will she go?”
Chris asked, his eyes wide with unease.
“She… she told me she was heading to the Northern Territory, but…”
Luke muttered, his gaze turning serious.
“It was chaotic just now. I’m not even sure I heard her right.”
“Dad, we have to go home and check on Mom. I have a bad feeling… like she’s really going to leave us for good!”
Collin’s voice trembled with panic.
He grabbed Luke’s and Chris’s arms and was about to rush toward home
when Kristy stepped in front of them.
She let out a soft sob and clung to Luke’s hand.
“Luke… are you going to leave me? I’m scared. What if Christina comes back and hurts me again when you’re all gone?”
“Kristy, please… just stay here. We’ll be back soon.”
“No, Luke! Don’t leave me!”

Her sobs grew louder, almost theatrical.
“Dad, we have to go- I know Mom’s gone!”
Collin insisted.
Chris didn’t wait any longer. He forcefully pulled Luke’s arm out of Kristy’s grip and
dragged him out of the infirmary.
When they arrived at the den, Christina was already gone.

Her room was empty–only a broken moonlight necklace and an old photo of the four of
them remained.
How happy they looked back then.

Luke stared at the photo in silence, as if lost in memories of a better time.
“Where did you go, Mom?”
Chris’s voice cracked as tears streamed down his face.
“Please come back… no one can take your place in my heart!”
Collin clutched the photo tightly, his throat choking with grief.
Just then, Kristy arrived and overheard their words.
She walked over to Collin and gently patted him, but the faint smile on her face betrayed
her.
“Don’t be so sad, Collin. I can be your mom. I’ll be better than that arrogant she–wolf who only knew how to lie…”
Chris’s eyes narrowed.
“What did you just say, Kristy? I hope I misheard you.”
Luke turned, his gaze sharp.

“Christina is my mate and the Luna of this pack. Don’t even think you can slander her like
that.”
His voice was cold as steel.
“I’ve treated you like a sister, but don’t mistake that for more. Wake up from your little
dream.”
“My mom is Christina. No one can replace her!”
Chris snapped, fury burning in his eyes.
“Why are you smiling anyway?”
Collin growled.
“We’re all worried sick about Mom, and you’re here smiling like nothing’s happened?”
His fists clenched tightly.
Kristy’s smile disappeared instantly–but it was too late.
Luke stepped closer, his nose twitching slightly.
His wolf stirred beneath his skin.
“Is there something you’re not telling us? What are you hiding?”
Without waiting for her answer, he dashed toward the roof, Chris and Collin hot on his
heels.
Kristy stood frozen for a moment… then calmed herself with a cold smirk.
“No need to panic. No one saw anything.”
She fixed her expression and followed them, steps light but eyes dark.
“Dad, don’t you remember we installed a camera up there?

Collin said the bird he was feeding got caught by a cat, and he’s been checking the footage
every day.”
Chris said as he ran toward the camera.
“Thank the Moon Goddess–it’s still here!”
Collin grabbed the device and handed it to Luke.
“Dad, let’s check it together. I think we were too focused on Kristy last night… maybe we
misunderstood Mom.”
“Yeah, Dad… Mom’s never hurt any of us.”
Chris’s voice cracked, eyes brimming with tears.
“She was always warm and gentle to us…”

Luke’s hands trembled as he took the camera. A storm was already forming behind his
eyes.
He quickly scrolled to the video from the night before.
And then… he heard it.
Kristy’s venomous words to Christina.
The lie.
The manipulation.
The fall.
His eyes blazed with fury.
“What a shameless snake!”
“Dad, we were all betrayed by her!”

Chris whispered, covering his ears as if trying to block out the truth.
“Look, Dad–she dropped the necklace herself and jumped off the roof!”
Collin’s words were like daggers, piercing deep into Luke’s chest.
Just then, Kristy arrived.

She froze in the doorway, her knees giving out beneath her as she saw the video playing.
Luke turned toward her, face twisted with rage.
He stormed to her and slapped her hard across the face.
“You vile creature! How could you do something so despicable–framing Christina like that?!”
“Mom never hurt you! Why are you so cruel to her?!”
Chris shouted, wiping away tears as he hurled the camera at her feet.
“You drove my mom away! You’ve been hurting her over and over!”
Collin’s fists clenched as he pounded her back.
“Dad—we misunderstood Mom for too long! You have to bring her back!”
“No, Luke–please, I’m not… I didn’t mean…”
Kristy broke down, clinging to Luke’s leg, sobbing, her voice barely audible between gasps.
But Luke’s eyes were as cold as ice.
“Lock her in the cellar. No food. No water. No fresh air!”
He growled, every word biting like frost.
“Let her rot there until Christina comes back!”
Chris and Collin grabbed her by the arms, dragging her screaming toward the cellar.

“You’re not coming out until Mom returns!”
Chris spat, shoving her inside.
“And I want to hear you apologize to her–in front of all of us!”
Collin slammed the door shut and turned the key, ignoring her desperate cries.
