Chapter 11
Alexander struggled to maintain his composure, forcing his voice to stay steady,
“Aria, enough of this. Come out now, and I’ll still spend some time with you.”
“Didn’t I tell you? Savannah was just a plaything. I’m already sick of her. You’re the one I love – the only one. Just hang on, and I’ll come back to you
soon.”
“This isn’t fucking funny, Aria. Don’t you think I won’t divorce you?”
No matter how many words he spoke, silence was his only answer.
He couldn’t find Aria in any room of the estate.
Even some of her belongings were gone.
She had truly left!
When this realization finally hit him, Alexander’s lips pressed into a thin line, his entire demeanor tense to the breaking point.
Not only were Aria’s things missing, but many proofs of their love and shared memories were gone too!
The backyard was barren. The large grove of sycamore trees had completely disappeared, leaving only ugly stumps behind.
It wasn’t until now that Alexander finally started to freak out.
In the past, no matter how many times he upset her, she had never gone this far. Just a little coaxing and she would forgive him.
Now, the sycamore trees he’d planted for her, holding six years of memories – she’d cut them all down.
He ran his hand over one of the stumps, the surface dry and rough – clearly cut down a while ago.
She had had them cut down some time ago, long before now.
And he hadn’t noticed at all.
Alexander’s heart sank to rock bottom, plunging into complete darkness.
With trembling hands, he called Aria’s number.
Unsurprisingly, it was still disconnected.
“Aria, where the hell have you gone!”
He sent his first message in days.
But a second later, a single gray check appeared – message not delivered.
He never thought he’d see the day when Aria would completely shut him out – no calls, no texts, nothing!
A bad feeling emerged in Alexander’s heart. He hurriedly dialed her parents‘ number.
“Sorry, the number you have dialed is no longer in service…”
The same voice repeated over and over, as if mocking his pathetic state.
Aria’s parents had also blocked and deleted all his contact information.
The entire family seemed determined to cut him off completely.
But he wouldn’t allow it! He hadn’t signed any divorce papers–even if they ran to the ends of the earth, he would drag them all back!
Alexander’s jaw clenched as he barked into the phone,

Chapter 11
“Get me everything on Aria and her family now! After that damn kidnapping, I want every place they’ve been. Every single detail, got it?!
“Wanna leave me? Not a damn chance!”
The assistant, woken in the middle of the night, suppressed his exhaustion and replied, “Yes, I’ll find someone to investigate immediately.”
After hanging up, Alexander still couldn’t calm down.
Returning to the estate, looking at the empty home, a feeling of desolation and loneliness washed over him.
His heart felt as if a piece had been forcibly carved out, leaving an empty, bleeding wound.
Lying on the bedroom bed without Aria beside him, he found it strangely difficult to adjust.
Though all traces of her were gone, he kept seeing her silhouette everywhere.
Looking at the dressing table, he could still imagine Aria sitting there, applying makeup and skincare.
The balcony curtains billowed in the breeze, a haunting reminder of how she used to be terrified, swearing the wind–tossed fabric looked like ghosts. She’d make him get up to roll them up, then cling to him, burying herself in his chest.
Now, those warm moments were nothing but distant echoes.
Somehow, their interactions had devolved into nothing but jealousy and arguments.
Somehow, they’d gone from those tender nights to nothing but jealousy and fights.
Even when they shared the same bed, she’d press herself against the wall, keeping as far away from him as possible.
