“What do you mean?” Priscilla suddenly realized with belated panic.
She glanced around, aside from the royal family, there were court officials and relatives from all the noble houses.
Even the King attended the annual autumn hunt. All the eligible young nobles who could make it were present.
The vast plaza encircling the hunting forest was packed to the brim with spectators, leaving not a single empty space in sight.
Jessica hadn’t made herself entirely clear. It wasn’t that she was letting it go, she simply couldn’t pursue the matter through official channels, because what had been wounded wasn’t just Garbisch’s body, but also his reputation and lifelong dignity.
But that didn’t mean she’d let Priscilla off the hook.
Jessica stepped forward, glaring down at Priscilla, but her words were meant for the King.
Jessica said, “Your Majesty, this woman is the daughter of the rebel Pat Mcbride. Back then, my brother led the troops to capture the traitor and won great merit in battle. Yet, relying on Waldo’s favor, she has wantonly wounded my brother.”
“Jessica…” The King’s emotions were indescribably complex. He realized she had chosen this moment to settle scores, first, because Waldo was absent, and second, because they might need help from the Yates family when it came time to rescue Waldo.
The Yates family’s people were top–tier fighters.
Most importantly, she had just saved Leon.
If she could save Leon, she might be able to save Waldo, too.
The King glanced at Andrew, who quickly whispered, “I’ve already sent someone to find Markus. He’ll be leading the Royal Guards here any minute now.”
Mobilizing the Royal Guards would take some time, after all. This couldn’t be rushed.
The King thought, ‘So Ms. Yates chose this moment to settle old scores with Priscilla, knowing full well it would take time to mobilize the royal forces. She could use this interim to her advantage without actually delaying Waldo’s rescue, wasn’t that precisely her calculation?
‘Such nerve for someone so young!‘
Sure enough, Adele grew frantic and exclaimed, “Jessica, since you’ve already encountered the wolf pack, quickly lead us in and get Waldo out!”
Jessica ignored Adele’s frantic plea, her gaze fixed on Priscilla. She declared, “My brother and I have always been fiercely loyal to Waldo. Whenever he was in danger, we’d lay down our lives to protect him. Yet my brother was wounded, by His Highness’s own woman!”
“Guards!” the King commanded, and immediately royal guards stepped forward to seize Priscilla.
“What are you doing? When Waldo comes back, he won’t spare you!” Priscilla suddenly panicked, she could see deadly intent flashir
She thought, ‘That bitch! How dare she make her move while Waldo’s away!
‘She’s gone mad!‘
“Let me go!” Priscilla thrashed wildly against the guards‘ grip.
The people from Waldo House didn’t dare make a move, not with the King right there.
Priscilla screamed, thrashing against the guards, “Let me go! Jessica, let me go!”
A sinister smile flickered across Jessica’s face, sending chills down Priscilla’s spine and freezing the words in her throat.

Did you really think a single cut could settle your debt to my brother?”
