Jessica had no idea how long it took before she finally calmed down completely.
Looking down, she noticed Leon’s mask still lying quietly on the ground.
She picked up the mask, turning it over in her hands as she studied it closely, her gaze growing darker.
Jessica thought, ‘What happened to the disfigurement?
‘His face was completely unharmed.
‘Then, back when he was trapped in the Northern Borderlands and supposedly disfigured, how on earth did that rumor spread?‘
Over the years, this had left Jessica with deeply complex feelings toward Leon, a blend of fear and guilt.
Jessica thought, ‘I never expected Leon not only to be unscarred, but to have a face even more frighteningly perfect than I imagined.
‘Terrifying. He is just terrifyingly perfect.
‘With a face like this, who in all of Novigrad could possibly compare?–
‘His face is even more flawless than any woman’s. So why has he spent all these years hiding behind a mask and spreading rumors that he was disfigured?
‘What on earth is he thinking?
‘Now that I’ve seen his true face, is he going to turn around and use this as an excuse to make me ‘take responsibility‘ for him again?‘
Jessica instinctively glanced down at her chest, her clothes remained so disheveled it was downright embarrassing.
Jessica’s face instantly flushed crimson with embarrassment.
Jessica thought, ‘This is just too much! In all my seventeen years, I’ve never lost control like this!
‘How could I let myself get so lost in his striking looks? Just seeing his face, breathing in his scent… my mind went completely blank.
‘Since when did I become so… weak for his looks?‘
That night, Jessica finally managed to get some proper rest.
The next morning, she rose at dawn.
Every year at the Autumn Hunt, the rules for the second round were never the same.
The King would announce the new rules today. After all, this concerned the ownership of the Royal Guard token, making the assessment content particularly crucial.
Of the ten teams that made the cut today, aside from the Leon House and Waldo House, the Davon House and Melvin House were also represented.
Even Malik had unexpectedly made the cut.
This year really was different. The Yates family and Malik’s teams weren’t part of the competition last year. Additionally, there was a brand new team this year, led by Prince Henry.
Since dawn, Monica had been waiting outside Jessica’s tent. When Jessica emerged, Monica’s face flushed red, and she instinctively lowered her head.

Jessica asked hesitantly, her cheeks flushing. “Then… did you see his…”
“I saw it!” Monica blurted out, her face flushing again. This time, clearly out of shyness.
Jessica felt a heavy weight settle in her chest, her brows furrowing tightly.
She fumed inwardly, ‘That jerk! He knew perfectly well someone would see him going out like that!‘
Although Monica and Jessica had grown up together like sisters, Jessica still felt deeply uncomfortable that Monica had witnessed those intimate changes in Leon.
“I just can’t believe this…” Monica sighed, her voice full of unease and confusion. “Jessica, what do you think? Why would he act like this? How could he change so much?”
Jessica shot her a glare, her expression darkening. “Why’d you have to bring that up? You’re so shameless!”
“Me? How is that my fault? He was the one who took off his mask…”
Jessica blinked in surprise and turned to face her. “You said you saw… wait, you mean you saw his face?”
