Chapter 5
Later, I heard that Ethan maxed out his credit cards to finally buy Jasmine a diamond ring.
However, that diamond was only one–twentieth the size of the pink diamond I had custom–made.
The store manager specifically told me that Jasmine looked extremely furious at the time.
But for the sake of Ethan’s child, she had to force a smile.
Even more ridiculous, Jasmine secretly snuck back to the store the next day.
She wanted to return the ring, but demanded the refund be deposited directly into her personal account.
The store manager had already received my instructions and naturally refused outright.
Jasmine was furious but didn’t dare make a scene.
In the end, she kept begging, and the manager, worried about disturbing other customers, quietly called to ask how I wanted to handle it.
I had just been discharged from the hospital and was getting a facial with socialite Sara Ramirez in New York.

Hearing this, I laughed so hard my face mask wrinkled. I told the manager: “Refund her 70% at most. Make sure to send me the security footage.”
The manager did as I instructed.
Sara was laughing hysterically beside me.
“Is this that pure jasmine flower? She’s such a gold digger.”
I smiled sweetly, gazing at the pink diamond on my ring finger, and
said gently: “Mr. Johnson just loves this type.”
In the following days, Ethan seemed to think he could achieve
great success.
He naively believed he could single–handedly save the bankrupt
Johnson Group.
To avoid being looked down upon by our family, Ethan actually
hosted a dinner party at their family villa.
Ethan sent invitations to almost every political and business elite he knew, except, of course, the Sinclair family.
He not only wanted to attract investment but also to show off his
true love to the world.
Actually, Ethan was quite talented-otherwise, he wouldn’t have
been able to take the company public using our family’s resources 2/4
in my previous life.

But now he had neither connections nor any resources.
No matter how talented he was, no one was willing to support him.
I heard that at the dinner party, he specially bought Jasmine a haute couture gown, but aside from Jasmine’s poor relatives, no one else showed up.
Maria was so embarrassed she pretended to be sick and hid for a
month.
Sara dramatically described the scene in my office, gesturing wildly.
I laughed so hard I almost entered the wrong client account
number.
She even teasingly whispered in my ear: “Ethan is your prince!”
I held my forehead and sighed: “Please, just let me forget!”
But that was just a joke. Next, I would be preparing for a dinner
party too.
This time I would attend as the president of Sinclair Group.
In this life, I would never let the family business fall into outsiders‘
hands.
To help relieve my parents‘ burden, I began seriously learning 3/4
company management.

After all, I’d been exceptionally bright since childhood, and I had
even minored in financial management in college.
Under my father’s guidance, I quickly became capable of
handling company business independently.
Later, when I closed a million–dollar deal, my father was so thrilled
he booked plane tickets that very day and went on vacation with my mother.
At the airport, my father hugged my mother with tears in his
eyes and said: “It’s been twenty Christmases! I can finally take a
vacation!”
My mother laughed and playfully punched him.
Watching my parents, still so loving after all these years, I silently
vowed: “In this life, I will definitely protect them!”
