Chapter 13
After the wedding, I didn’t hear any news about Edward or Olive for a long time.
All I knew was that from the day of the wedding, the scandal involving Edward and Olive spread throughout the entire Northwyn.
Edward and Olive were locked up by the Hall Family that very day, closely monitored and not allowed to leave,
Starting that day, the Hall Family’s business took a huge hit, their stock price plummeted sharply, losing over one billion dollars in market value over the course of a week.
The Hall Family’s various enterprises were targeted in a coordinated attack, causing their fortune to fall dramatically overnight.
But no matter how the Hall Family changed, it no longer concerned me.
On the third day after marrying Jason, he looked mysterious and took me somewhere.
The car drove through Northwyn’s most bustling district, finally stopping outside a courtyard in the suburbs.
After getting out, he even personally blindfolded me and held my hand, guiding me step by step inside.
Once inside the courtyard, I smelled the fragrance of gardenias wafting all around.
Apparently, the courtyard was full of gardenia flowers. My heart lifted. Very few people knew that I liked gardenias.
In the Robert Family, I was just an unloved orphan girl, always having to tread carefully and not allowed to reveal even a hint of my preferences.
Everything I did had to follow the rules set by the Robert Family.
If I showed even the slightest bit of resistance or deviated just a little from the image the Robert Family had crafted for me, I would be punished.
At worst, I’d have to kneel in the Robert Family ancestral hall for three days and nights. At best, I might be denied food for an entire night.
Many of the hobbies I once cherished were gradually abandoned over time, suppressed by the rules of the Robert Family.
Jason led me into a room and finally released my hand. “All right, Eliza, you can open your eyes
now.”
The moment I opened them, I was stunned by what I saw.
It was an art studio, exactly as I had imagined it. The studio was beautifully decorated, with a full wall of floor–to–ceiling windows facing the courtyard, elegant wooden floors and several expensive paintings displayed on one wall.
More importantly, the studio was filled with my past paintings,
I hadn’t picked up a brush in a long time. Those earlier works were published under a pen name and very few people knew about it. So I could imagine how much effort Jason must have put

into collecting all of them.
“Do you like it?”
“This… this…” Overwhelmed by surprise, I was at a loss for words.
I wandered around the studio again and again before I gradually came back to my senses.
“This is amazing!” I said sincerely.
Jason looked at me with a gaze full of affection. “As long as you like it.”
“No… I never told you I can paint. How did you find out? And how did you discover that RED is my pen name?”
A faint blush rose on Jason’s face as he looked away. “I… I peeked…”
So back then, when Jason was pursuing me, I often ignored him.
He had no choice but to figure out my likes and dislikes on his own and that’s when he accidentally discovered it.
“Later on, for some reason, you stopped painting so much. So I found a way to buy back all the paintings RED had published before, thinking, even if I didn’t win you over, I could at least look at the paintings you made in the past every day.”
Knowing that someone treasured my dreams and even carefully collected them, I felt really wonderful.
Tears welled up in my eyes. “Jason, thank you.”
Now I could start painting again and continued the dream I once had.
