Chapter 10
Edward led a group of people and barged straight into my wedding ceremony.
He was wearing a suit that I recognized immediately. It was the custom–made wedding suit he had ordered before.
He was gasping for breath, strands of hair on his forehead slightly messy from rushing.
He looked at me deeply, his voice hoarse as he said, “Eliza, don’t marry him.”
I didn’t understand why Edward showed up here. At the sight of him, my mind went completely
blank.
The entire hall erupted in chaos, guests whispering wildly. “Wait, what’s going on? Did I see wrong? Isn’t that the only son of the Hall Family?”
“You saw right! It’s him! I heard the bride is his ex–girlfriend, so it must be true!”
“A wedding snatch at the scene! So exciting! Can’t wait to watch! Come on, grab your snacks!” Edward took step after step toward me. “Eliza, I’ve figured it all out. It was my fault before. Don’t marry him. Please come back.”
I trembled all over and took several deep breaths to barely calm myself down. “Edward, stop right there. Don’t come any closer.”
But Edward ignored my words and kept stepping forward.
I instinctively stepped back a few paces, but not far before Jason steadied me by the waist. “Eliza, it’s okay. Trust me.”
Jason stepped forward, placing himself fully between me and Edward, his voice low and firm. “Edward, today is my wedding day. You barging in uninvited, disrupting my wedding banquet. If you leave now, I can let it slide. But if you dare to provoke me again, don’t blame me for being ruthless.”
“Jason, she’s my fiancee! Let go of her!”
Jason chuckled softly. “Edward, did you hit your head and lose your memory? Eliza has already broken off the engagement with you. Besides, your family never even gave the betrothal gifts. How do you expect to marry her? It’s just a fantasy!”
Edward’s breath caught; memories of the dozens of times he abandoned me suddenly surfaced, pain swirling in his eyes.
‘No, this time, I even brought the betrothal gifts with me. Eliza, I only ask for one chance to make it up to you.”
With that, Edward raised his hand. The people following behind him immediately parted, revealing one by one the items they carried.
As the red cloths were pulled away, the entire venue was ignited with excitement once more.
‘Three luxurious villas.”
‘Two Rolls–Royce Phantoms.”
‘A full set of sapphires worth seven million dollars.”
The eyes of all the guests lit up even brighter, their faces full of excitement and anticipation.

“Here it comes, the much–anticipated bride snatching moment! The Hall Family really knows. how to make a grand gesture! Guess who the bride will choose in the end?”
“All the girls are so lucky, why am I not? I want to be showered with extravagant gifts by a guy
too!”
“That just goes to show the bride is a huge blessing! Only those truly fortunate get to enjoy such
luck!”
Edward fixed his gaze on me, a faint look of hope shining in his eyes.
“These gifts are far more generous than what the Clark Family prepared for you. Eliza, this time, can you finally see how I truly feel about you? I hope this is enough to show you my sincerity.” Jason hadn’t expected him to pull a stunt like this and a flicker of panic showed on his face. “Eliza, you…”
I shook my head at Jason, then stepped forward slowly, approaching the row of lavish betrothal gifts, pretending to examine them carefully.
I picked up the sapphire necklace and toyed with it.
“Edward, using money to measure sincerity was really shallow of you.”
Then, without hesitation, I smashed the sapphire necklace to pieces.
