Chapter 6
Jason directly took me to the hospital where Wendy worked. At that moment, Wendy was still in a meeting with a group of doctors but was immediately pulled out by Jason.
Wendy grabbed Jason’s ear and scolded, “You brat, can’t you see I’m in a meeting? Are you itching for a beating? Want me to spank you?”
Jason looked at Wendy pitifully and raised his injured arm, “Auntie, I got hurt. Shouldn’t you…”
Wendy glanced at his wound and sneered, “Yeah, if you’d come any later, your hand would’ve stopped bleeding.”
She turned to go back to the meeting, but Jason stopped her again. “What about her? She can make you cancel your meeting, right?”
Wendy raised her eyes and looked in the direction Jason was pointing.
When Wendy saw me, her eyes brightened and a smile appeared on her face. “Eliza? I just heard from your mom yesterday that you’re getting married. The fiancé is Eliza? You brat, after ter years chasing her, you finally caught her?”
Jason immediately covered his face and started coughing uncontrollably, “Auntie, can we not
talk about this?”
Wendy’s gaze returned to me. Seeing the wound on my forehead, her expression changed instantly and she quickly came over. “Eliza, what happened to the wound on your forehead? Jason, how can you be such a man? How could you let a girl get hurt like this? If that scar stays, what will you do to her?”
In fact, Jason’s wound was much worse than mine. But Wendy’s entire attention was focused on me. Since my mother passed away, it had been a long time since I felt such deep care.
Wendy took me straight into the consultation room.
She gently cleaned my wound and carefully stitched it up.
Fearing it might hurt, she kept softly chatting with me to distract my attention.
Before long, the wound on my forehead was completely treated. When I looked in the mirror, it truly lived up to her reputation as a master of plastic surgery. There wasn’t a single visible stitch
mark.
“All done. For the next couple of days, avoid getting it wet and eat lightly. That way, no scars wil remain. You’ll be beautiful at the wedding, without any regrets.”
I didn’t want to return to the home I once shared with Edward. Jason directly gave me a villa in the suburbs to stay in for a couple of days.
In the following two days, I was busy confirming all the wedding details and had no time to think about Edward.
My only worry was whether I could smoothly get back the wedding dress that Olive was wearing.
But Jason solemnly promised me he would get the wedding dress back intact.
The day before the wedding, news of our marriage spread everywhere.
Jason even did an interview where he publicly declared his love for me.
4:39 pm DDDD
“Yes, that’s right, I’m getting married. Everything you heard before is true. Back then, Eliza rejected me, which broke my heart, so I went abroad for a long time. But that’s all in the past now. Tomorrow is our wedding day and I hope everyone will bless us.”
Right after the interview aired, I received a message from Edward. [Eliza, what do you mean by that? Is what Jason said true?]
He accused me of not only cheating with him but also planning to marry him.
[Eliza, what about all these years we had together? What does that mean to you?]
I glanced at his messages, felt it was all meaningless noise and just turned off my phone to sleep.
But the next morning, when I was woken up early to start getting ready for the wedding, my phone was flooded with over 99 unread messages, all from Edward.
