Chapter 21
3ut Aria just coldly shook her head. “It’s too late.”
Too late.
Too late.
Too late.
Those two simple words hit Maxwell like a thunderbolt.
Maxwell watched helplessly as Aria gazed lovingly at Lucas, nodding gently and saying “I do.” In
hat moment, he felt his world completely collapse.
The joyful laughter around him seemed like a cruel mockery, his heart pierced by a sharp, agonizing
pain.
Regret flooded over him like a tidal wave. He never imagined that his past actions would push the
woman he loved deeply into another man’s arms.
He watched as Aria and Lucas embraced tightly, his eyes filled with despair, yet he wasn’t ready to
give up.
‘It doesn’t matter if you’re with him now. You’ll separate one day.” Maxwell’s voice carried a tremor
of stubbornness. “I’ll never marry anyone but you. I can wait.”
He seemed to be speaking to Aria, but also giving himself a reason to persist.
Hearing Maxwell’s words, Aria felt nothing stir in her heart. She had experienced too much pain because of him, and those past hurts had hardened her heart. She ignored Maxwell and slowly raised her head to look at Lucas, her eyes full of love.
Lucas understood her gaze, gently cradling her face as he leaned in.
Their lips met, and they kissed passionately amid the cheers and blessings of everyone around them.
This kiss was not only a declaration of their love for each other but also a symbol of Aria’s complete break from her past.

Chapter 21
Watching this scene, Maxwell felt utterly heartbroken.
He could almost feel his heart breaking piece by piece, the pain making it almost impossible to breathe. He wanted to turn and leave, yet he felt nailed to the spot, unable to move an inch.
In the days that followed, Lucas spoiled Aria beyond measure, as if he wanted to present all the world’s beauty to her.
Every morning, he would bring her freshly picked flowers, the petals still glistening with dew–his morning declaration of love.
Every dinner was carefully arranged, whether a romantic candlelit meal or taking her to taste cuisine from around the world.
Luxury goods, expensive cars, and jewelry were delivered to the castle daily, as if money were no object.
They made no effort to hide their affection for each other, often sharing sweet moments on social media. Whether silly photos from their travels or warm everyday moments, they always received countless likes and well–wishes.
At every event they attended, Luca’s would hold Aria’s hand tightly, his eyes full of adoration, as if she were the center of his world. This public display of affection not only immersed Aria in a cloud of happiness but also made everyone in their circle deeply envious.
However, for Maxwell, all of this was the ultimate torture.
Every day, he couldn’t help but check up on Aria and Lucas’s activities. Each time he saw their sweet mages, his heart felt like it was being stabbed by a sharp knife.
He often sat alone in a dark room, staring at their photos on his phone screen, reminiscing about the moments he had shared with Aria, haunted by regret and pain.
He tried to keep himself busy, filling every minute with work, hoping to forget Aria.
But in the quiet of the night, when loneliness struck, Aria’s smile would inevitably appear in his
mind.
He deeply knew he had lost the most precious thing in his life, yet he couldn’t stop thinking about her. This contradictory feeling tormented him, making him increasingly haggard.
