Jonathan’s eyelids fluttered slightly, but he kept his eyes shut and remained silent, Meanwhite, Heather, sitting beside him, had quivering tips. When Sophia looked over at her, Heather quickly lowered her head.
Sophia smirked and said, “Heather, care to guess what i found in the memorial hall?”
Heather snapped, “You already burned the whole memorial hall to the ground. What ghostly nonsense could possibly be left?”
Sophia’s eyes lit up. “Bingo! Something nonsense, just like you said.”
Heather opened her mouth, thinking to herself, ‘Is she out of her mind? Seriously, what the hell is wrong with her?”
Heather took a deep breath, deciding not to hear anything. Just then, the light above the emergency room door suddenly went out.
Driven by worry for Howard–or perhaps just a desperate need to escape Sophia–Heather immediately rushed over to ask about his condition.
Meanwhile, Howard remained unconscious, swathed in bandages from head to toe.
While Heather was wiping away tears and Jonathan looked on with concern, Sophia suddenly burst into malicious laughter.
Sophia sneered, “Damn, that’s brutal. Wrapped up like a mummy, even his own mother wouldn’t recognize him now!”
Dorian nodded in agreement. “Total mummy vibes.”
Sophia turned to Wilbur with a mischievous grin. “Wilbur, what do you think?”
Wilbur’s heart skipped a beat. ‘Fine, you guys are nuts. Why drag me into this?‘ he thought.
In an instant, the tense atmosphere was completely shattered, leaving even the doctors feeling utterly awkward.
Heather couldn’t spare a thought for Sophia at that moment. With tears streaming down her face, she choked out, “Doctor, how’s my san? Is he badly
hurt?”
The doctor said gravely, “I’m sorry, but sixty percent of the patient’s body surface has suffered sulfuric acid burns, primarily concentrated on the face, neck, and chest.
“We’ve done our best to treat wounds and prevent infection. He’ll need to be transferred to a sterile isolation room for intensive monitoring,” he added.
“Sixty percent!” Heather’s world spun as she swayed unsteadily as if she might collapse at any moment.
Sophia dramatically covered her mouth in mock horror. “Oh my god, that’s terrifying! Does he even have a face left?”
Hearing this, Heather collapsed.
The moment Heather collapsed, Sophia started wailing dramatically, “Heather! Heather! You can’t die! What would we do without you?
“How can you just die on me like this?
“I don’t want a stepmother. Stepmothers are the worst. They’ll abuse me. Wake up, don’t die on me!
“Doctor, you must save her! The Chandlers are loaded. Stroke, paralysis, dementia, I don’t care. As long as she wakes up, I’ll owe you for life,” Sophia wailed dramatically.
The doctor was completely thrown for a loop by her bizarre antics. ‘What’s with this strange girl?‘ he wondered.
Jonathan gritted his teeth, doubling down on his act.

He tried to pick Heather up, but she thrashed him hard, leaving him aching all over. Jonathan called out, “Wilbur, come help”
Just as Wilbur reached out, Sophia slapped his hand away. “Don’t you dare touch Heather!” she snapped.
Facing Jonathan’s furious glare, Sophia sneered, “If Heather had a choice, she’d rather drop dead than let Wilbur lay a finger on her.”
Wilbur silently withdrew his hand. ‘Not that I wanted to touch her anyway. Wouldn’t be such a bad thing if Heather just dropped dead right here, he thought.
“You-,” Jonathan stuttered furiously, his blood pressure shot up, his vision went black, and his knees buckled beneath him.
“Jonathan! How could you pass out too? You haven’t even made your will yet. Doctor, save him quickly!
“Oh no! You can’t die now. What’ll I do if you kick the bucket? Family fortunes are not divided.
“Jonathan, your four kids will definitely take advantage of my youth and cut me out of inheritance. Given how awfully I’ve treated you, the least you can do is get up and make a will before you kick the bucket.
Sophia urged, “If you die without a will, we’ll be stuck in a messy legal battle–what a nightmare! Are you even listening? Get up already!”
Wilbur thought to himself, ‘Damn, better not mess with her.
Seeing that the family members were completely unreliable, the doctor swiftly called for two gurneys and had the patients placed on them to be taken for medical examinations.
Yvette looked at the unconscious Chandlers and sensed her chance to turn the tables.
Yvette followed the gurney, hurling accusations at Sophia as she walked.
“Sophia! How can you only care about money when Mom and Dad are like this? You’re so heartless!” Yvette said.
Sophia theatrically wiped at her dry cheeks, then crossed her arms in a lazy pose.
“Yeah,” Sophia sneered, “you’re so high–and–mighty, so full of compassion. Fine, when the time comes, you take their ashes, I’ll take the cash.”
Yvette was livid. “You-!”
Sophia scoffed, “What, feeling reluctant now? Everything you eat, drink, wear, or use,
which one is not bought with money?
“Such a hypocrite! You were the first to snatch up the house, car, and jewelry they gave you.”
Yvette’s face flushed crimson with rage as she snapped back, “Those were from Mom and Dad!”
Sophia rolled her eyes dramatically. “Oh sure, you’re the beloved little princess, while poor pitiful me has to take what I want and fight for what’s mine.”
Dorian, who had been watching the drama unfold, scoffed, “Sophia’s absolutely right. Why do you get everything while she gets nothing? What a hypocrite!”
Yvette, too intimidated to confront Sophia directly, turned her fury

Dorian nodded obediently. “Guess I’ll just keep staring at you, Sophia, best eye bleach ever.”
Yvette was too furious to speak.
Sophia sneered, “You walking disaster! Yvette, you cursed your adoptive family into bankruptcy and jail. Now that you’re back with the Chandler family, you’ve already landed your doting brother and parents in the hospital!
“Look at you,” Sophia sneered. “After all this, you’re still hanging around the Chandler family? Clearly just after their money.”
Yvette shouted furiously, “I am not a jinx, nor do I covet fortune.”
With a deadpan expression, Sophia said, “I don’t buy it.”
Dorian nodded in agreement. “There are six other people in the Chandler family besides you, and half of them ended up in the hospital because of you. It you were truly kind, you’d leave voluntarily. You’re just after Chandler fortune. How vicious!”
Yvette’s eyes reddened with anger again. “Sophia, you know exactly what’s going on. Why are you doing this to me?”
Sophia thought to herself, ‘See? Without her simps backing her up, she just falls apart. So much for her mental strength.‘
Sophia sneered in delight. “Exactly! I know everything. That’s precisely why I’m treating you this way.”
Yvette burst into tears of rage.
The doctor examined the couple, one had collapsed from sheer distress, the other from blind rage.
As soon as the doctor finished the examination, Sophia darted over, her eyes gleaming with malicious delight. “Doctor,” she asked eagerly, “should we start the funeral arrangements, or go ahead with the cremation paperwork?”
