Priscilla’s words were completely ignored by Waldo.
After this ordeal, he had seen clearly the depth of Jessica’s feelings for him.
At this point, he no longer knew what he truly felt for Jessica, but one thing was certain. He owed her.
“You were fooled by her, Waldo. She never had you in her heart,” Priscilla shouted, rushing up and snatching the letter from his hands.
Waldo’s face darkened. At last, he looked at her seriously, but his gaze was ice cold.
He said, “Priscilla Mcbride…”
“You’re calling me by my full name now?” Priscilla’s eyes turned red again with rage, and tears streamed down her face.
He had never addressed her like that before. He really had changed.
Waldo’s patience for her had completely run out.
He couldn’t understand how he had once thought her temperament was genuine and rare.
In truth, Priscilla was just a spoiled noble lady. What she called authenticity was nothing more than willfulness and arrogance, unreasonable in every way.
And he had abandoned his beloved Jessica for a woman like that.
At this very moment, Waldo’s regret reached its peak.
Waldo said, “Priscilla, if you feel you can’t stay in this place, you’re welcome to leave. I will never chase after you again!”
“What did you say?” Priscilla’s breath hitched, and she ripped the letter in her hand apart in a fury. “You bastard!”
“Enough!” Waldo suddenly stood up, slamming his palm on the desk.
If he hadn’t still been recovering from his injuries and unable to use his full strength, that strike would’ve shattered the desk entirely.
He glared at Priscilla, then slowly averted his gaze to the floor. Scattered on the ground were the torn pieces of the letter.
His chest heaved with anger. “You dare destroy my letter? That was military correspondence. Do you realize your crime?”
“I…” Priscilla gasped.
“Guards!” Waldo flung his sleeve angrily. “Lock her in the woodshed! No one can release her without my command!”
Priscilla was mad. “What? You’re locking me in the woodshed? You bastard! Waldo, you’ve gone mad! I’ll never forgive you!”
Then, Priscilla was dragged away by Hughie.
At first, she couldn’t believe it. But as she was dragged closer to the door, the truth hit her.
The man who had once promised to love her for a lifetime had now become the one to hurt her most deeply.
She grabbed onto the door frame.
Though Hughie was restraining Priscilla, he didn’t use full force, afraid of injuring her.
After all, she was Waldo’s woman. If she got hurt, Waldo might regret it later.

Priscilla snapped, “She doesn’t love you. She saved you only for her own gain! Everyone out there says she went through a lot to t you and she are already broken off! Her actions were meant to show her strength, and your incompetence!”
“Priscilla Mcbride, stop talking!” Hughie scowled, though deep down, unease flickered in his heart.
He couldn’t help but glance at Waldo.
It seemed Waldo had never even considered this question until now.
Everyone outside had been praising Jessica’s action as a grand tale of devotion. If Jessica had still beeri his wife, such a deed would’ve gone unquestioned. A couple acting in concert was only natural.
But she was no longer his wife.
Priscilla’s words, harsh as they were, had struck a nerve.
Waldo wasn’t a fool. He simply hadn’t thought it through until now, swept away by the warmth in his heart.
