Chapter 1
My husband Nathan gave my screenplay which I had been meticulously crafting for three years to a rookie actress.
Looking at the announcement photos they posted online, I called him immediately:
“Director Fuller, what the hell is this? Who gave you permission to recast and start filming my screenplay early?”
Nathan’s tone was dismissively casual. “Babe, it’s just a screenplay. You’re an Oscar–winning actress with endless opportunities. This one isn’t worth stressing over.”
“You have thirty minutes to issue a public clarification and halt production. And get that wannabe actress off my project!”
Nathan hung up on me, then immediately went live online to broadcast the production launch ceremony.
Since someone couldn’t take a hint, I wasn’t going to show any mercy.
Ten minutes later, Nathan Fuller was kicked out of the production company, and all his projects were suspended indefinitely.
The livestream of the production launch had barely been shut down when Nathan’s call came through.
His voice was dripping with barely contained rage.
“Valerie! What the actual fuck? Why did you kick me out of the company?”
“And the new project–who gave you the right to shut it down?”
I leaned against the floor–to–ceiling window, listening to Nathan’s hysterical shouting with perfect calm.
“It’s my screenplay. Why wouldn’t I have the right to stop it?”
“You overstepped your authority, made decisions without approval, and ignored your boss’s directives. The company doesn’t need someone like you.”
Nathan’s voice was laced with disbelief:
“Valerie, seriously? Over a freaking role? Are you really being this dramatic?”
Seeing him still acting righteous, I laughed bitterly.
“Dramatic? Really?”
“Nathan, who the hell gave you the audacity to touch what’s mine?”
“You’re so generous giving away MY work to impress some other woman!”
In three years of marriage, this was the first time I’d spoken to him with such ice in my voice.

Chapter 1
Nathan finally seemed to extract a shred of rationality from his rage.
After a few seconds of silence, his voice noticeably softened.
“Val, baby, are you misunderstanding something? There’s nothing between me and Olivia, I swear.”
“I just thought she had the acting chops, and the role suited her perfectly.”
“I had no idea you were so attached to this screenplay.”
“My bad, I shouldn’t have recast and started filming without talking to you first.”
“If you’re not happy, I’ll release a statement right away clarifying that you’re still the female lead.”
“Just add me back to the group chat, the production team has a ton of stuff waiting for my input.”
His words carried a hint of entitlement, as if he was confident I’d give him this easy way out.
I let out a soft laugh.
“Nathan, I’m not joking. You’re fired.”
“This screenplay has absolutely nothing to do with you anymore.”
“I’ll be looking for a new director to take over the project.”
A loud crash came through the phone–probably him slamming his fist on a table.
“Valerie! You can’t do this! I’ve spent three fucking years preparing for this film!”
“You have no right to-”
“You sound like you need to take a breather and cool off.”
I cut him off mid–sentence and ended the call.
My phone immediately started blowing up with calls and texts from Nathan.
I simply powered it off and tossed it aside.
When I first met Nathan, he was still a directing student at film school.
In his senior year, he was desperately pitching his film to investors, only to face rejection after rejection.
I discovered his previous work online and saw not just incredible talent, but a unique vision for visual storytelling.
I recognized his potential and decided to give him a platform, investing both money and resources into his career.
In five years, he climbed from being a nobody to one of the industry’s top directors.
After making a name for himself, he created a new drama specifically for me, extending an olive branch:

Chapter 1
“I spent five years proving you didn’t make a mistake believing in me.”
“This screenplay took me five years to write for you. I want you to be my leading lady.”
I’ve always admired driven, confident people, and I’d witnessed his dedication firsthand.
So I accepted his screenplay and starred in his new series.
After the show became a massive hit, he confessed his feelings, promising to write screenplays for me for the rest of his life, wanting me to be his leading lady forever.
Regarding romance, my feelings toward him were initially more about admiration than love.
But his relentless pursuit eventually won me over, and I chose to build a life with him.
After marriage, our relationship gradually settled into something comfortable, evolving from passionate lovers to family.
I thought we would continue respecting each other, supporting each other’s success, becoming the industry’s power couple.
But now, he’d done something so out of line for some no–name actress.
Three years of marriage, and we were facing our first real crisis.
While I’m not someone who obsesses over romance, I absolutely won’t tolerate betrayal in my marriage.
I called the company immediately, ordering them to find a new director to take over the project.
