I started eating less, my face went pale, and I
lost weight.

I went to Lily’s room and locked up her
jewellery.
The next day, she brought me food. I showed
her a picture of the charm.
“Mrs, I want to ask you, your charms are very
pretty, why do you not wear them?”
I looked sad. “Only family can wear them.
They don’t let me.
“But I’m adopted.”
“I want to make one. I want to feel like I
belong.”
She grabbed the food and poked me.
“You idiot. They don’t like you!”
