Viktor’s expression was frozen in shock as he stared down at Kamilla.
He frowned. “Excuse me?” he asked her.
Kamilla bit her lip and frowned at the bed. “Wait…” she said and shook her head before looking up at him. “Sorry. I’m really confused, but I… I think I had a nightmare.” She scratched her chin. “It was so realistic.” With a sigh, Kamilla rolled across the bed until she fell in a heap on the floor.
Viktor watched her push herself up with a groan and stand before him. “I’m gonna go eat something,” she told him with a weak grin. “I’m hungry.”
Lifting his arm, Kamilla ducked underneath it and hurried in the direction of food. Viktor watched her go, slowly lowering his arm.
What had just happened? Not only could he not remember what happened before he took her to bed but now Kamilla was asking him bizarre questions. Had he altered? Why did he remember nothing? Fuck, it was frustrating!
“Viktor!”
Damon poked his head into the doorway with wide light-
Viktor looked at him. “What?”
-green eyes.
Peaking down the hallway, Damon came into his chambers. “Why do you look like you’re about to kick puppies? What did Kamilla say? Does she at least remember?”
Running a frustrated hand through his black hair, Viktor shook his head. “No. I don’t think so.” He clenched his jaw and tilted his head to the side. “I feel like I should know, Damon. Whatever Kamilla and I did last night… it seems really important. I feel like shit, for some reason. I feel like I should repent. But I don’t even know what the sin is.”
Damon’s eyes were filled with concern as he bit on his thumb. “Could you perhaps have said something to her?”
Viktor looked at him “Like what?”
“I don’t know.” He gave Viktor a sneaky look. “Maybe you told her
you love her?”
Viktor’s dark brows rose. “Why would I…? No! I definitely didn’t
say
that.”
Damon narrowed his eyes. “What’s wrong with telling Kamilla you love her? Don’t you love her?”
Viktor looked away, momentarily leaving the question unanswered so that Damon grew even more curious.
“What loves Kamilla,” said Viktor darkly. “…is the bond between our souls. Just like what I see in her eyes… is nothing but the forced bond. Not her own feelings. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.”
Damon blinked and gave a nod. “Okay then…” He glanced back at the open doors. “So… about what you two can’t remember. How are you going to figure it
out?”
Viktor bit his lip and shoved his hands deep into his pockets, frowning darkly at the ground as he though. “Wait,” he said. He lifted his gaze to Damon’s, a daring look clear in his eyes.
Damon’s eyes fell closed on a sigh. “Whatever you’re thinking right now, I know I won’t like it.”
Viktor shrugged. “You don’t have to. This is what I’m thinking,” He raised a finger. “Hear me out. It’s true that, besides last night, I have memories in my head that I cannot recall. Who has access to those memories?”
Damon frowned slightly. “Uh… Charming?”
Viktor nodded once. “Exactly.” He released a breath. “Hit me.”
Damon’s eyes widened as his mouth fell open. “Huh?”

Chapter 112
Viktor’s eyes narrowed. “Stop sounding like Kamilla and hit me!”
Damon shook his head. “Why in the hell?”
“My ordering you to is reason enough!” said Viktor.
Damon held a hand to his chest. “Viktor, 1-”
“Hit me, Damon!” Viktor said impatiently. “If it triggers my alter, I want you to ask it about last night. I need to know! I did something, Damon. I need to know what.”
“There’s no guarantee that Charming will wake up!”
“Still! Try.”
“No!”
“Hit me or you’re fired!”
Damon scoffed. “You can’t fire me! It would be disrespectful to the late King!”
Viktor smiled evilly. “I was talking about firing you from the company, but I never had much respect for the old man anyway, so getting your ass out of this castle would work too!”
