Chapter 18
“Liza… please just look at me?” Liam stood behind her, his voice full of hurt.
Eliza simply continued opening her shop, treating him like he didn’t exist.
“Liza, listen to me.” Liam persistently followed her inside, watching her expertly switch on machines and wash cups.
He paused as a forgotten memory suddenly surfaced.
“Liam, one day I just want a quiet, easy life.” A girl wrapped in a blanket, sitting shoulder–to–shoulder with him under the stars.
“Then that’s the life we’ll have, Liza. Wherever you go, I’ll be there.” A boy’s voice, still young–them
in middle school.
“Liam, you wouldn’t get it.” The girl just smiled, but the boy grew anxious. “Why not? Try me–tell
me.”
After hesitating, she explained, “Liam, you’re going to take over Harris Enterprises one day. You’ll
have the whole family pressure on you–business, expectations, the whole thing. You’ll need the
perfect wife, a bunch of kids, and raise them to take over too.”
‘But that’s not my life. I just want to open a little coffee shop and live a simple, happy life with
someone who loves me.”
The boy quickly grabbed her hand. “Liza, I don’t care about anything–I just want you”
The girl just smiled without looking at him.
Later, she fell in love with him too, changing her lifestyle for him, becoming the perfect Mrs. Harris.
And he forgot–forgot her wishes and that starry night…
Tears suddenly fell from Liam’s eyes, landing on Eliza’s hand. She instinctively pulled back, then finally spoke.
“Liam, we’re divorced. Don’t you get it? We’re done.”

Her voice was flat, as if she truly no longer cared about him.
“Liza… I’m sorry.”
“I know everything now. Maya’s baby wasn’t mine… All those false accusations against you–I know
it all.”
“The baby wasn’t yours?” Eliza raised an eyebrow. “Then whose was it?”
Liam quickly explained: “Some rich guy’s. Maya was his mistress, got pregnant, and he abandoned her. So she drugged me and claimed the baby was mine.”
“Liza, Grandma and I have punished her. She’s totally out of our lives.” He slipped the diamond bracelet onto her wrist.“Grandma told me to give you this… and bring you home. You’re the real
Mrs. Harris.”
Eliza frowned, quickly taking off the bracelet and pushing Liam’s hand away, dropping it into his palm.
‘Liam, love’s like this bracelet–once it breaks, that’s it.”
‘No matter how hard you try to fix it, the cracks never go away.”
She laughed coldly. “Mr. Harris, please leave. My shop’s too small for someone as important as you.”
The bracelet in his palm felt impossibly heavy, making it hard for Liam to breathe.
He muttered. “I know I screwed up. Just give me a chance to start over–with you. No past, just us.”
Eliza laughed bitterly. “Liam, can you stop being ridiculous?”
But no matter what she said, Liam wouldn’t budge. He truly began pursuing her again.
The next day, as soon as Eliza opened the shop, he arrived with a bucket of dewy roses, walking in is if he owned the place.
‘Liam! My shop doesn’t need these things!”
But he simply set the bucket down and pulled out his black card.“Liza, I want your pudding. Make ne fifty. I’ll pay.”
Eliza leaned against the wall with a forced smile.

“Not for sale!”
On the third day, Liam didn’t bring roses. Instead, he brought a team of people carrying various boxes into her shop.
“What are you doing? What’s this?” Eliza blocked the doorway.
Liam stepped up. “Liza, wait–I was just trying to upgrade your machines.”
Her expression stayed cold. “No. Take your people and GO.”
And so it continued, day after day. Liam appeared punctually at her door, watching her open the shop, waiting for her to close, silently keeping her company.
Eliza finally snapped. After the last customer left, she dragged him inside, her face flushed with
anger.
‘Liam, are you kidding me? Still playing these ridiculous little games?”
