Chapter 12
“Just tell me is the baby his or not?” Liam’s grandmother demanded furiously. The bodyguard who had been silently standing beside her pushed open the door.
When Maya saw Liam and his grandmother in the doorway, she collapsed onto the floor in shock. Her previous arrogance vanished quickly.
Mr. Hayes had gone pale, trembling in his chair.
No matter how wealthy the Hayes family was, they would never dare to openly challenge the Harris family!
Liam helped his grandmother enter the room slowly. Mr. Hayes immediately vacated his seat for
her.
“Explain it! Now!” his grandmother demanded the moment she sat down.
The imposing bodyguard approached Maya and Hayes, panic evident on both their faces–especially Maya, whose eyes were filled with terror.
“Mrs. Harris, please–have some coffee, don’t upset yourself.” Hayes quickly motioned to the attendant, who brought the cup over with care. He rushed to her side, forcing a nervous smile.
‘This… this has nothing to do with me. Yes, we had a thing, but it was brief–and you know how these things go in our circle…”
His grandmother’s expression hardened, and Hayes quickly corrected himself, “In my circles! My circles! When she got pregnant, I gave her $2 million for an abortion, but she kept pressing for more, playing both our families against each other…”
Hayes eloquently portrayed both the Harris and Hayes families as Maya’s victims. As his grandmother’s expression softened slightly, Liam suddenly spoke.
‘Mr. Hayes, tell us the complete truth. The Harris family won’t take action against you, and our future business cooperation will proceed smoothly.”
His face was dark, the atmosphere around him turning frigid.
Hayes‘ eyes lit up. A business partnership with the Harris family was worth sacrificing his dignity!

He cleared his throat, forcing a sycophantic smile onto his wrinkled face.
“I met this woman at a nightclub when she was a college student. She was pretty, so I kept her as a mistress.”
“Look at me–I’m an old man. My children are all grown with families of their own. How could I bring another child into the world? I was careful, but this bitch tricked me…”
Hayes‘ face darkened as he glanced at Maya with disgust.
“She got pregnant and tried to trap me into marrying her. Like hell I was gonna marry someone like that. I gave her a bank card at the party–thought that’d shut her up. But no, she just wouldn’t quit. That bitch drugged Mr. Harris and made him think the baby was his!”
His grandmother stood up immediately. “So it’s truly your child? Not a Harris?”
Hayes nodded repeatedly. “Please don’t upset yourself, Mrs. Harris. Even if this child were a Harris, you wouldn’t want it. Look how calculating she is at such a young age–even I was completely fooled.”
Hayes continued, “She’s asked me for money three times. The second time, I demanded proof. I personally accompanied her for an amniocentesis. Only after confirming it was mine did I pay!”
Like a thunderbolt, the revelation left his grandmother frozen in place.
After a long moment, she sat down slowly, clutching her chest. “Can’t believe the entire Harris family got played by that woman–unbelievable!”
Liam quickly summoned bodyguards to escort his grandmother to the hospital. Once the three had eft, he finally allowed himself to breathe, turning his cold gaze toward the trembling Maya.
Seeing his look, Maya finally snapped back to reality, crawling to clutch his legs. “Liam, it’s not true! It’s not like that! He’s lying to you!”
Hayes coldly interjected, “The baby’s right here. Test it. Let’s see who’s really been lying to Mr. Harris.”
Liam’s face turned icy, his gaze piercing with coldness.
‘…Test it,” he said slowly. Hayes quickly waved, and two attendants appeared.
Hayes ordered, “Take this woman to Hayes Medical Center. Mr. Harris and I will personally

accompany her for testing!”
“No! No! Liam, believe me! Please don’t trust him!” Maya cried out. “It’s not true! It’s all lies! This
really is your baby!”
As the attendants dragged her away by her legs, she desperately grabbed Liam’s ankle when passing
him.
“Liam, don’t you believe me? Weren’t you looking forward to this baby?”
Maya looked up, tears still on her cheeks.
Previously, he would have softened immediately, rushing to hold her and comfort her.
Now, he just stood there with a dark expression, saying nothing.
Seeing Liam stay silent, Maya quickly–said, “Liam, Eliza’s gone. Isn’t this the perfect chance for the three of us to be a family?”
Liam suddenly grabbed her throat, his eyes bloodshot with rage he could no longer suppress.
“Who’s gone?”
Hayes quickly backed away, averting his gaze.
Maya’s face turned a sickly purple as Liam squeezed her neck. Her eyes bulged, tears and mucus streaming down her face.
“Mmph! Mmph!”
Liam loosened his grip slightly, allowing her to gasp for air. A foul smell filled the room.
Hayes covered his nose and approached. “Mr. Harris, please don’t be angry. I’ll personally deliver
the test results to your home. I guarantee they’ll be accurate!”
Maya finally realized what was happening. Her face contorted hideously, the mask of sweetness and innocence finally falling away.
she snapped, “Liam! No wonder Eliza couldn’t wait to divorce you!”
The words hit Liam, his hand released in shock. Maya broke free and, seeing his stunned expression, gave a cold smile.
