Chapter 25
Zelea didn’t hesitate at all.She took the dagger and slashed his skin.
She used her actions to prove that he was wrong.
For six years, she had been bullied countless times.Scrubbing toilets, running errands, they ever stripped her and beat her.
Even now,she still had those nightmares.
For her,the things that happened in prison were things she could never speak of again.
Her grip on the knife subconsciously tightened, each slash cutting through skin, reaching the
bone.
The pain lingered in her heart, not dissipating.
A trace of coldness flashed in Zelea’s eyes,as blood beads rolled down, soaking her shirt.
Luke gritted his teeth, not saying a word, until the dagger fell at his feet.
She stared at the blood–stained back in front of her,a thin layer of sweat forming on her forehead, but the frustration in her heart dissipated somewhat.
“Zelea,are you tired?If you are,go rest.”
Luke didn’t blame her. Instead,he gently caressed her hand, afraid that her palm might be sore.
His affectionate appearance almost made her want to vomit.
She lifted her arm and shrugged off his hand.
“You think that by doing this, I’ll forgive you?Let me tell you,l won’t. You disgust me so much that it makes me sick.”
Luke was stung by these words, his eyes narrowing suddenly. He pressed his tongue against his cheek but still pretended to be indifferent, giving a light laugh.
“It’s okay,I love you. As long as I love you, that’s all that matters.”
He endured the pain in his back, gritting his teeth as he held her and placed her by the bed, quietly cleaning the blood and wounds.
These days were time he had stolen from the heavens.
As long as she could stay with him a little longer, that was enough.
Even if it meant being covered in wounds,he was willing to do anything.
When Zelea finally fell asleep,he gazed at her greedily and lovingly, his eyes filled with a gentleness and tenderness he had never shown before.
If only time could stop at this moment.
Luke opened his phone, looking at the endless missing person reports, all of which he clicked“Not
Interested“on.
In these three days,Luke used every method at his disposal to coax her.
He searched online for recipes, making various dishes for her, while not eating a single bite himself.
“Zelea,I’m sorry. That time,I just wanted to make you jealous, but I never expected those people
would really stop you from eating.”

Zelea sneered, pouring all the food down the trash can.
“It’s all your idea–why pretend otherwise? You must be the most disappointed one to see that’l didn’t starve to death.”
He glanced silently at the food in the trash can, then turned and went back to the kitchen to make something else for her–again.
The cycle repeated.
“Zelea, what do I need to do for you to be happy? Will you be satisfied if I die?”
He stubbornly wanted to hear her answer,a self–deprecating smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
When he asked this question,he suddenly empathized with the previous Zelea.
How did you answer back then?
“Even if you die a thousand times,it won’t be enough to satisfy my hatred. Even if you die a thousand times,it won’t be enough to satisfy my hatred.”
The two faces, drifting through the river of time, gradually overlapped and became clear.
Luke gazed at her longingly and suddenly,he smiled.” Then do you love him?”
His gaze burned, his breathing growing heavy.“I’m asking you,do you love him?”
Only when she nodded did he react.
“I don’t believe it! How long have you known each other? How could there be love between you two!I’ve investigated him. He’s so rich,he’s just playing with your feelings. Don’t believe his lies.”
Luke’s voice trembled,mixing with a sob. Finally,tears slipped down.
“Can’t you really give me one more chance?”
The warmth in his palm faded and he dejectedly released his grip.
