Her dilated pupils finally cleared at that moment. She stared in shock at her trembling hands,her teeth chattering uncontrollably.
This wasn’t a dream after all.It was exactly the same as the day with Jose.
Sovia’s face turned red as she suddenly coughed violently,collapsing weakly beside the bed. Behind her,Carol was full of panic as she tried to steady her breathing. “She’s terrifying!Sh wants to repeat what happened six years ago!She should be locked up in a mental hospital!”
Luke hesitated,his gaze scanning her from head to toe,scrutinizing her.
A mental hospital was a place that devoured people whole, leaving nothing behind.If she were sent there,the consequences would be unimaginable.
With a thud, Zelea’s legs gave out and she collapsed to her knees,begging him to spare her life.
“I’m really not sick. There must be something wrong!You have to believe what I’m saying!There must be a connection between what happened six years ago and today. You know me.How could I possibly be mentally ill!”
Luke’s heart wavered,seemingly unsure whether to believe her or not.
In the end,he resolutely shook off her hand.“I can’t keep a hidden danger in the house.”
Zelea slumped to the ground,her gaze losing focus.
Faced with all this,she was completely helpless.
“Tomorrow at noon,I’ll contact the mental hospital to come pick you up.“After saying that,he walked away without looking back.
That entire night,Zelea tossed and turned,unable to sleep.
After reaching out to a friend,she stared blankly out the window. She couldn’t figure out where things had gone wrong.
At dawn,the door was knocked on.Luke came in and led her down the stairs.
Everyone in the villa looked at her like frightened birds,no one daring to come near.
“When your treatment is finished, I’ll come back to pick you up.“He paused for a moment,lowering his eyes to avoid hers.“This time,I’ve already spoken to the people at the mental hospital. They won’t hurt you again.Just focus on getting better.”
Zelea gave a bleak smile. How could she possibly be at ease?
She felt like nothing more than a chess piece,moved and controlled at will.m With the fake–death pill hidden in her pocket, she glanced around cautiously. Sovia deliberately sat beside her,picking up seafood and placing it on her plate.
The shrimp head was split cleanly in two.Knowing exactly how to provoke Zelea,Sovia said, “You see,these bottom–feeding creatures are destined to be slaughtered.Just like you,pitiful and pathetic.”
At that moment,everyone else in the villa had already finished eating.Luke stood nearby,making calls to the hospital,completely unaware of what was happening at the dining table.

Zelea’s whole body went rigid.She turned her head mechanically to look at her.“You’re going t the mental hospital anyway,so I’m not afraid to tell you. The truth is,six years ago and yesterday, drugged you with hallucinogens that completely blur the line between reality and illusion. Even it you weren’t mentally ill,I’d still make you go crazy.”
She curled her lips into a mocking smile,a wave of satisfaction rising in her heart.
Sovia knew better than anyone.If she pushed hard enough,if she provoked her without restraint,Zelea would eventually snap and fight back.
But this time,she was wrong.
