Lucas opened his mouth to say something more.

A bucket of filthy water hit him square in the face.
It was John.

Soaked and humiliated, Lucas had no choice but to leave.
Since he kept dodging the divorce, I had no option but to go through the courts.
As expected, he cut ties with Adam and kicked him out of the company.

It was never enough to satisfy Adam’s desires.
Without warning, Lucas shoved me into his car and took me back to his family villa.
“Let me go!”
I struggled fiercely, trying to break free.
“We’re not divorced yet, so you’re still my wife, and you owe me your duty!”
He threw me onto the bed, aggressively ripping at my clothes.
Is this man seriously going to commit a crime right now?
Why was he ripping my clothes again?
“Ah!”
I bit him, and he pulled back in pain.

“It is still a crime even if we are still married, Lucas! If you touch me again, I’ll have you ar-

I said it firmly, and for the first time, I saw real fear in his confident eyes.
“Natasha, do you really want to go this far?”
His words sounded eerily familiar, but now I was the one on the receiving end.
“Lucas, you’ve pushed me to this point. You’ve made it impossible for me to ever be a good
wife!”
Lucas was about to say something when Marilyn barged in, hair a mess and looking frantic.

Lucas slapped her hard across the face.
“Get out! I feel sick just looking at you!

“You’re nothing but a cheap knockoff! You are not even fit to kiss Natasha’s feet!
“Don’t let me see you again! I don’t want my wife to get the wrong idea!”
However, Marilyn was not backing down.
“No! I’m not going anywhere! I love you, and I’m the rightful Mrs. Callahan!”
She clung to him like she had lost her mind, refusing to let go even as he hit her again and again.
I had heard that after learning the truth, Lucas not only dumped Marilyn but demanded ev- erything he ever gave her back, including the cars, houses, and money.
He even beat the life out of her uncle, the so–called private investigator who had tricked him.
I could not care less about their twisted drama. While they were tangled up in their mess, I slipped out of the villa.
Then I called the police. They gave Lucas a firm warning, telling him to stay away from me or face detention.
Lucas finally calmed down. But Marilyn? She completely lost it.
She completely lost it–so much so that she showed up at my house in the middle of the night and set it on fire.
Luckily, Adam happened to be there that night.
He risked everything to get John and me out, ending up seriously injured in the process.
As for my worthless father, his mistress, and their illegitimate child, they did not make it out.
Marilyn was then arrested for arson and murder. In the end, she was sentenced to death.
Thanks to her, John finally secured his place as the rightful heir to the family.
