My Moonveil Pack welcomed the former wolves of the Frosthowl Pack.
As the Moonveil Pack thrived, Maximilian’s mother came to see me.
She’d been arrested for attacking Scarlett but was released soon after, likely due to a settlement.
Now she stood before me, asking me to support her, to give her the lavish life she’d once had.
“Juliette, I was fooled by that wretched Scarlett. That’s why I treated you so poorly. I know I was wrong.”
“This is your Moonveil Pack? It’s magnificent! I always said you were destined for greatness.”
“Where are you living now, Juliette? I’ll come home with you.”
I sneered, my voice sharp. “Talon, throw her out.”
Her shrieks echoed behind me as she was dragged away, her curses growing fainter with every step.
Maximilian’s mother had never cared for me. Now, she naively thought she could leech off me. Pathetic.
Let her rot in that dingy shack, counting the days until her precious son and daughter-in-law are released from prison… so the three of them can wallow in their shared misery.
May the Moon Goddess grant her a long enough life to see just how far they’ve all fallen.
Let them destroy one another in that endless cycle of blame and bitterness.
As for me?
I turned away from a mating proposal that very afternoon-offered by a striking Alpha with emerald-green eyes, a business partner who’d asked to become my second mate.
I smiled politely. And declined.
For the rest of my life, I would live for myself. And no one else.
