Chapter 15
The prepared words couldn’t come out anymore, a look of confusion flashed in Howard’s eyes.
She has really changed a lot, and she has also made a lot of progress.
Staying in the same place all the time, it seems like he’s the only one.
“Mr. Wiggins, you see?”
After a discussion among several subordinates, they looked at Howard sitting in the middle and cautiously asked, “Mr. Wiggins, what do you think?”
With that, Gretchen subconsciously looked over and happened to meet his gaze.
Our eyes met and then we parted ways. She looked down, treating him like a stranger. After a moment of silence, he ultimately
couldn’t bring himself to do anything to upset her.
Gretchen didn’t really relax until she saw Howard sign his name on the contract with her own eyes.
Melissa and I were seeing Peyton off together, and as she was about to turn back to the company, suddenly a voice came from
behind, filled with tenderness and love.
“Grete, wait!”
Gretchen paused for a moment, and the others around her seemed to have caught a whiff of something unusual. They all said hello and turned into the company. Before long, almost everyone had left, leaving just the two of them in the huge lobby. Gretchen didn’t know whether to leave or stay.
The silent atmosphere lingered between the two of them. After a while, he finally spoke in a hoarse voice, “Grete, how have you been all these years?”
A simple question drained all his energy, and he stood there hesitating, wanting to approach but too scared to.
Just like he didn’t dare to ask the question “I miss you a lot, do you miss me?”
Gretchen was doing great.
Thanks to the generosity of the Wiggins family, her money was enough for her to study abroad and live a decent life.
Even that deposit, up until now, still has a substantial amount of money.
But she didn’t plan to share with Howard.
She turned to him and asked in a soft voice, “Is there anything else, Mr. Wiggins?”
Mr. Wiggins’ words hit him like a ton of bricks, Howard felt a sharp pain in his heart, he opened his mouth, and tears welled up
in his eyes.
“Grete, we have to do it this way between us…’

Before he could finish his sentence, Gretchen suddenly interrupted, looked up at him, and there was no trace of their former affection in her eyes.
“Mr. Wiggins, it’s over between us,” she said lightly, drawing a clear line between them. She still had that smile on her face, but it sent a chill down his spine.
He was shivering from the cold.

“Mr. Wiggins, five years ago, it was just you and me, no one else,” she said.
Howard couldn’t accept that the long-awaited reunion turned out like this. He approached her with red eyes and trembling body, reaching out to embrace her, “No, Grete, it’s not true. I like you, I’ve only ever liked you!”
His outstretched hand missed, so he just “took it back” gracefully. With trembling hands, he undid the buttons on his collar and gave a hard tug, revealing the mark on his clavicle completely.
When Gretchen saw those three dark green letters, she couldn’t help but feel a little stunned.
Memory is like being instantly pulled back to a long time ago, Howard stood in front of her like that, his collar forcibly pulled open, revealing three letters on his collarbone.
Back then, Gretchen reached out and touched the scar, her eyes full of concern, and asked him softly, “Does it hurt?”
He shook his head, with a look of green and hot love in his eyes.
“It doesn’t hurt.”
But how could it not hurt? She clearly saw his body trembling uncontrollably.
And now, a scene so similar appeared before my eyes again, those two familiar letters even in the same position as before, as if they had never disappeared.
But she remembered it clearly.
When she first saw the news of the marriage between the Wiggins and Crawley families, the tattoos that symbolized his sincere and intense love for her had long disappeared from the casual exposure of his collarbone.
Along with his love for her.
