Chapter 4

Perhaps Charlie realized he’d gone too far the night before, so he suggested taking me out for a candlelit dinner.

I thought it might be a good chance to finally talk to him about severing the mate bond.

The restaurant was near the border of the Lunar Crest Pack’s territory. As I got into the car, my hand brushed against

something-it was a pink lace bra.

Charlie’s expression shifted instantly, but he didn’t even blink as he lied, “It’s a gift I picked out for you. Do you like it?”

I stared at the suspicious stains on the fabric and caught a familiar scent-the same one that had lingered in our house

before. I smiled.

Charlie fumbled to explain, “Selena saw it last time and said my taste was terrible, that you wouldn’t like it… so I let her try

it first. Don’t be mad, okay?”

“I’m not mad over something like this,” I said calmly.

Because from now on, nothing related to you will matter to me anymore.

As we passed a familiar stretch of road, I asked him to stop. I opened the door and stepped out.

This was where I had lost my pup.

It never got the chance to see this world before it became nothing more than a mass of blood and flesh.

Charlie didn’t understand. He sighed impatiently. “Get back in the car or I’ll leave without you.”

I picked a pure white moonlight flower from the roadside and placed it gently on the ground before getting back in.

Charlie couldn’t wait to drive off. The tires rolled straight across the bloodstained path.

Beside me, his phone lit up again. The screen displayed “babe Selena”, and several messages followed one after another.

She was asking if Charlie was on his way.

Eventually, we arrived at a restaurant, and I understood now why he had been in such a rush.

Selena suddenly walked in, arm in arm with a tall man wearing a mask. She feigned surprise and said, “What a perfect coincidence! I was just on a date with this gentleman. I didn’t expected to bump into you two here!”

Charlie clearly hadn’t expected this. His fists clenched, and his Alpha aura grew more intense as he faced the tall, imposing man beside her.

Last week, I had made a reservation at this very restaurant, hoping to have dinner with Charlie. He told me he needed to deal with pack business.

But the real reason he showed up here tonight was because Selena had posted on Instagram: “The Bloodbond Truffles at Moonfall Restaurant are divine. Is there a gentleman willing to share a meal with me?”

Charlie’s burning gaze locked onto Selena. “Who gave you permission to go on a date with some random guy? He will only disgrace you.”

The masked man simply let out a low chuckle, not bothering to reply.

A flicker of embarrassment passed across Selena’s face. She had seen him sitting alone earlier and approached him first.

Even though he had deliberately masked his aura, she could still sense the overwhelming strength he possessed.

She snapped back at Charlie, “And who are you to control me? Ever since you found your mate, you haven’t had time to go shopping with me!”

Charlie shot back, “I spent thirty million dollars for your first night. You belong to me now. I forbid you from seeing that

man again!”

Watching Charlie flare with jealousy over Selena was almost laughable.

But then, unexpectedly, my wolf began to stir-restless and agitated-as if something nearby had awakened her instinct,

something powerful.

Suddenly, a werewolf from the next table transformed without warning. He turned into a savage beast and lunged straight

at us.

Selena screamed in terror, “Charlie, help me!”

Without hesitation, Charlie yanked Selena into his arms and shielded her-while pushing me toward the danger.

Just when the beast was about to strike, a black blur surged forward from the side, moving so fast it tore through the air

like a blade.

A giant claw clamped around that wolf’s throat and slammed it viciously into the ground.

The beast struggled, but it was as though invisible chains had bound it. Even its howls came out in broken, pitiful

whimpers.

Heart pounding in my chest, I looked up-and saw a wolf more powerful than any I had ever encountered.

Massive and majestic, his silver-black fur shimmered with a cold, metallic gleam under the dim light. His presence exuded terrifying strength, wrapping around me like an invisible force.

In disbelief, I whispered, “It’s you…”

He shifted back into his human form. As the mask slipped off his face, I saw a devastatingly handsome man, his tousled black hair only adding to his dangerously captivating aura.

He gently wiped the blood splattered on my face, then smiled and said softly, “We meet again… my little bond rose.”
