Chapter 1
On the day of my prenatal check-up, my Alpha, Charlie, left me stranded on a deserted road while he turned around and spent millions of dollars to buy his childhood sweetheart’s virginity at an auction.
We were near the borders of the Bondrose Pack-one of the most dangerous places. Just last month, three werewolves
had died here.
I cried, begging him not to leave me.
But Charlie coldly pushed me away. “Selena needs me. I’m sure you can handle a check-up on your own.”
As the car reversed, it slammed into my belly. I felt blood begin to flow from my body.
Grimacing in pain, I began walking toward the werewolf hospital over a kilometer away.
With every agonizing step, I called him once. Then again. And again. He rejected every call.
On the ninety-ninth try, I finally said, “Please… come back. Save me…”
He snapped, impatient and irritated. “Stop acting. I’m busy right now.”
Then he hung up.
I collapsed to the ground, falling unconscious, leaving a trail of blood behind me.
When I woke up again, I saw Selena’s new post on Instagram. In the photo, she was lying naked in a man’s arms, her body
covered in kiss marks and bite marks.
[“My first time-was with him.”]
Beneath it, a comment read: [“Baby, I’ve waited ten years for this moment.”]
I knew it was Charlie. I recognized the scar on his arm. It was the one he got years ago when I was attacked by rogues.
He had fought them off alone and taken a silver blade to the arm to save me.
He once proudly declared to the world that it was a medal-proof that the Moon Goddess had witnessed the strength of
our bond.
[“Did you hear? Selena’s family went bankrupt. To pay off her debts, she auctioned off her first night. Some gentleman
swept her away with unlimited bid.]
[“Oh! What a devoted Alpha and Luna. May the Moon Goddess bless their eternal love.”]
A sharp pain ripped through my lower abdomen. Swallowing the grief, I sent Charlie a message.
[Let’s break the mate bond.]
One second later, my phone rang. His voice exploded through the speaker, full of rage.
“Victoria, you got to know! My patience with you isn’t limitless! Stop being so dramatic!”
My wolf growled lowly at his words, though she was already weak and barely clinging on.
I tried to soothe her. My mind drifted back to our marking ceremony, when he’d held my hands under the moonlight and promised, “My Princess Victoria, no matte what happen to you in the future, I will always love you.”

But the one who changed-was him.
“You’re pregnant with my pup. Your looks and body are already out of shape. Who else would even want you if you left
me?”
“And where the hell have you been? Don’t you know it’s unacceptable for a mated she-wolf to not return home at night?
Get back here. Now!”
I gently touched my now-flat belly.
While he was splurging millions on Selena, making love to her in a private suite at the auction house, our pup… was
already gone.
I ended the call. Just then, the hospital door opened, and a man walked in.
Handsome was not enough to describe him.
Dressed in a flawlessly tailored black suit, he cut a commanding figure-his tall, powerfully built frame radiating an aura of both strength and nobility.
My wolf stirred for the first time in ages, as if she had sensed the aura of the Alpha fated for us.
