Chapter 4
The moment the words left my mouth, the room fell into stunned silence.
Then–chaos erupted. The heavy doors creaked open, and everyone in the manor came flooding in like a tide.
“Is it true?!”
“Sweetheart, please, tell us–what did you find out?”
Luna Daisy burst into tears. She stepped forward, clutching my hands as if she could still change what was coming.
“It wasn’t the pack,” she whispered hoarsely, tears streaming down her face. “The Lunas‘ deaths had nothing to do with us
-nothing!”
She told me–over and over–that the Bloodmoon Pack had nothing to do with the Lunas‘ deaths.
After Alina died, they increased security in the manor. Yet the second Luna still died by apparent suicide, without warning.
In desperation, shame cast aside, they surrounded the third Luna with guards. Even during mating, they had maids and
warriors standing watch on all sides.
But she died too.
After that, they tried everything–tying the brides up, sedating them, drugging them into sleep.
Still, every single time, the Luna would somehow break free. Tear open her belly. Crush her own heart.
Daisy shook her head helplessly. “The pack can’t survive without an Alpha. We were only trying to preserve his bloodline… We never thought it would bring such a curse down on us.”
Finn was called a monster. The Bloodmoon Pack, a cursed land.
Other wolves began to shun them. Disgust turned to fear.
Alpha Troy–Finn’s father and the former leader of the Bloodmoon Pack–was consumed by grief and shame. He died not long after
Now, only a mother and son remained in this vast, hollow manor.
“Harper, Daisy choked out, “if you can really uncover the truth, you’ll be our savior. Our pack will owe you everything”
Unlike the tearful Daisy, Finn remained composed
He immediately ordered guards to secure the manor, then sent his beta to contact the werewolf investigators. He wanted to clear the Bloodmoon name–once and for all
It didn’t take long for the news to spread across Calvonta
Crowds began gathening outside the manor. They didn’t dare come too close, but stretched the necks to gawk, curiosity
burning in their eyes

“I heard Harper said she knows why the Lunas died. You think it’s true?”
“She’s just a girl. What does she know about investigations? She’s probably lost her mind like the others. Let’s get out of here–no point watching her bleed to death.”
“Yeah. Who knows what kind of evil she’s stirred up?”
But no one actually left.
The mystery of the Lunas‘ deaths had loomed over Calvoria for years. Everyone wanted to see the truth for themselves.
I slowly swept my gaze over the crowd and began to speak.
“All eight Lunas–including myself–married Alpha Finn willingly.”
“They were noble–born, educated, calm, well–mannered. None of them had any signs of mental instability.”
“So why is it that the moment they stepped into this manor, they suddenly lost their minds?”
“The answer,” I said, voice steady, “must be hidden within these walls.”
A murmur of tension rippled through the crowd. One pack member, impatient, shouted, “Quit dragging it out! If you know
something, just say it!”
“Yeah! What’s wrong with this place? Why are the maids fine, but the Lunas go mad?!”
“Wait a minute–Harper’s a Luna now, isn’t she? How come she’s still okay?”
The crowd grew louder. Werewolf investigators had already sealed the manor. Everything was in place.
I opened my mouth, ready to reveal the truth–when something went wrong.
My body suddenly convulsed.
Luna Daisy’s expression shifted instantly. Panic flashed across her face as she shouted, “Hold her down! The other Lunas showed the exact same signs before they… before they died! Hurry–tie her up! It’s the only way we can save her!”
Finn, closest to me, grabbed my wrist.
The moment his skin touched mine, a jolt of terror shot down my spine.
His skin was ice cold Not warm like any living werewolf should be
Was he… dead?
I bit down hard on the inside of my cheek, struggling to stay conscious
“Don’t listen to them!”
“They killed the Lunas–every single one! Now they’re trying to do it again!
“Help me! Don’t let them take me!”
