Chapter 12
Out came this tall, handsome guy.
Looked like another rich family’s golden boy.
Looking at his face, I silently mused.
Of course hot guys hang out with hot guys, and heirs hang with heirs.
Before I could say anything, this guy recognized me immediately.
“Oh shit, aren’t you Elysia Storm?”
“You here for Harlan?”
He talked super fast, and I nodded slowly.
“Uh, yeah.”
He looked like he’d found a lifeline.
“Come in, come in, please!”
“You have no idea how much he’s been driving me crazy all morning…”
The guy quickly pulled me into the house.
The moment I walked in, I saw chaos everywhere.
All kinds of bottles scattered across the floor, and Harlan sitting in a corner with messy hair, watery eyes, his damp shirt partially unbuttoned and hanging loose, showing off half his muscular shoulders and chest.
I was completely mesmerized.
The guy looked at Harlan, then at me, and his eyes lit up.
“Hey, you two need some privacy to talk. I’m gonna grab breakfast–I’m fucking starving…”
Without waiting for my response, he bolted.
Leaving confused me and disoriented Harlan staring at each other in this huge living room.
After a while, I tentatively spoke up.
“Are you… are you okay?”

Harlan’s hazy eyes instantly brightened halfway.
He blinked in disbelief.
“Elysia?”
“Is it really you?”
He looked so devastatingly attractive right now that I just walked over and crouched down beside him.
“It’s me. I came to find you, Harlan.”
Harlan looked up at me, checking me out from head to toe.
After confirming it was really me, he first tried to fix his hair, then hastily buttoned up his shirt.
“You came to find me?”
“What’s up?”
I blinked at him.
“I came to marry you.”
“Is that okay?”
His rushed movements came to an abrupt halt.
He frowned at me.
“Am I dreaming again?”
Then he just turned over, sprawled out on his back, threw his arm over his eyes, and let out a long sigh.
“Whatever.”
I reached out and pinched his cheek.
“It’s not a dream.”
“Get up, Harlan. Let’s go get married.”
His furrowed brow relaxed halfway.
I pinched his cheek a little harder.
His brow completely smoothed out.

He shot up like a spring.
“That hurt?”
He stared at me in disbelief, then pinched his own thigh.
Muttering to himself.
“Not… not a dream…”
I smiled at him.
“Exactly. Not a dream.”
“Don’t you want to marry me? Hurry up and get ready.”
Harlan looked completely stunned.
He obediently cleaned himself up and took some hangover medicine.
Then sat across from me looking dazed.
“How did you decide overnight?”
I sighed.
“Well, someone was secretly crushing on me without saying anything, making me think your marriage proposal wasn’t sincere, so I didn’t dare say yes.”
Harlan blinked.
“What?”
“Me?”
I rolled my eyes.
“Who else?”
I told him everything my mom had shared with me.
He finally admitted it.
“Okay… pretty much what your mom figured out…”
“But I thought I was being pretty obvious about liking you.”
I put my hands on my hips.

“From my perspective, we’d just met.”
‘Even love at first sight needs time to develop! You came on way too strong from day one.”
He touched his nose sheepishly.
‘Yeah… I couldn’t help myself.”
Then he looked at me hopefully.
‘So now… does my secret crush finally have a response?”
I thought about it.
‘Of course it does.”
‘If you’d been obvious about it from the start, you would’ve gotten a response even faster.”
We stared at each other.
“So… when are we getting married?”
“The sooner the better.”
