Chapter 214
Five days had passed, and Valerie was now able to get in and out of bed by herself. As long as she avoided any sudden movements, she could manage her normal daily activities without much trouble.
Valerie had just picked up a call from Kelly. Caught off guard, she twisted her waist again and winced in pain, Still, she managed to steady her voice and said, “Kelly, don’t cry. Just tell me where you are right now.”
On the other end of the phone, Kelly was sobbing uncontrollably. “Valerie, why did he do this to me? I can’t accept it, I really, really can’t!”
Valerie rubbed her temples at the incessant sobbing. “Kelly, what’s going on?”
Kelly choked out between sobs, “He’s absolutely determined to break up with me… and he said…” She gasped for breath. “The only reason he was ever with me was because Renata told him to. He never loved me. Never… not even once…”
By this point, Kelly was sobbing so hard she could barely speak. “Then what did he mean every time he said he loved me? Was he just sweet–talking me every time we were intimate? Valerie, why did I have to meet someone like this… why…” Her voice dissolved into fresh sobs.
“Come over to my place,” Valerie said with a headache.
Kelly continued to sob, her voice breaking as she choked out, “Even with Renata’s face ruined like that… why does Angelo still like her? What on earth
does she have that I don’t?”
It took Valerie a great deal of coaxing and persuading to finally get Kelly to come over.
Kelly was still crying pitifully, and it took a lot of patient coaxing and comforting from Valerie before she finally managed to calm her down.
Given her state, she didn’t dare go home, so she ended up staying at Valerie’s.
Clutching his doll, Timothy watched the unfamiliar woman cry, and soon found himself sobbing along with her.
Seeing the little guy burst into tears, Kelly actually smiled. She scooted closer and started playing with building blocks with him.
When Aiden returned home, he found them, both with red noses and teary eyes, taking turns stacking building blocks, occasionally breaking into playful arguments over where each piece should go.
Timothy said, “No, that’s not how you build it!”
“What do you mean it’s not right?” Kelly teased. “What do you know, kid? This is exactly how it’s done, see how perfectly it fits!”
“No way! This one goes down here!” the child insisted.
Kelly insisted, “If you put it at the bottom, it won’t stay put! It definitely goes on top, trust me on this!”
Still looking doubtful, Timothy watched as Kelly placed the block on top, “See? Was I right?” Kelly asked with a triumphant smile.
Timothy Star exclaimed, “Wow! You’re so awesome!”
Kelly was practically bursting with pride, grinning from ear to ear. “See? Told you I’m amazing! And that’s not all, I’ve got more tricks up my sleeve Wanna see?”
Timothy exclaimed, “Yes! Show me!”
Valerie and Aiden were speechless.

Alden raised an eyebrow. “Coming to Reano City?”
Jack and Colette were nothing like Aiden’s parents.

Timothy was so soft and cuddly that Kelly’s maternal instincts went into overdrive. She planted two big kisses on him and cooed, “Timothy, how come you’re this adorable!”
Star giggled, “Because I look just like Mommy!”
“Do you like me?” Kelly teased.
“Yes!” Timothy planted a kiss on Kelly’s cheek and said in his sweet, childish voice, “I love you the most!”
Kelly’s heart absolutely melted. She snuggled with him under the covers and slept soundly through the night. The next morning, she eagerly took him out to buy toys.
Valerie had been worried that Kelly might break down and cry in front of the child all night, but it turned out she was overthinking it. Seeing how well they got along, Kelly actually seemed to be in good spirits. She picked up a sandwich for Timothy and said softly, “Be careful, it’s hot.”
Timothy carefully took the bun and nibbled at it, looking so heart–meltingly cute that Kelly couldn’t help but like him even more. After making sure he was full, she took him to the mall.
After buying Timothy a whole pile of toys, Kelly took him to the kids‘ play zone.
Star had the time of his life, and by the end, he was completely worn out.
“Kelly?” A familiar voice rang out, thick with disbelief and mockery. “What are you doing here? Weren’t you just dumped by your boyfriend? Didn’t expect to see you out having fun so soon.”
Kelly had been trying so hard to put it out of her mind, but the moment she heard those words, her heart twisted violently, a bitter ache surging through
her all at once.
She turned around and immediately spotted a young woman smirking at her with obvious mockery and gloating. The girl sneered, “Well, we, what’s this? Are you so heartbroken you’re falling apart, or have you just decided to give up completely?“.
“None of your damn business!” Kelly forced a cold smile, barely holding it together. She shot back, “Instead of prying into my life, why don’t you go check on your precious Renata? That so–called ‘beautiful‘ face of hers got all scratched up when she was caught being the homewrecker.
“Isn’t it you the real homewrecker?” The woman burst into mocking laughter. “You seriously didn’t know? Angelo had been after Renata for ages. Renata gave him a challenge. If he could seduce you and trick you into bed, she’d agree to be with him. Who would’ve thought he’d actually pull it off?”

Kelly’s grip on the child’s hand trembled as she clenched her jaw, her eyes welling with angry tears. “What…did you just say?”
“Oh my god, you seriously had no idea? Everyone in our group knows. Renata even told Angelo to knock you up! Every time, he’d promise to do it, then text our chat like. And you were clueless this whole time?”
Something in Kelly’s mind snapped. “What?” she choked out.
The woman cackled maliciously. “Kelly, that look on your face is just too good! You seriously had no clue? I’m dying here! We all know exactly how often you and Angelo slept together, and even your embarrassing sleeping face. We’ve all seen it!”
Something inside Kelly finally snapped.
“Shut up!” Kelly shrieked, her eyes blazing red with fury.

The woman grew even more smug, waving her phone tauntingly. “I’ve still got all the chat logs right here. Want me to send them to you so you can see for yourself?”
