Jessica’s voice still echoed through the valley when she charged into the Stone Forest.
As soon as she entered, all she could see was a thick mist.
Unable to see clearly, she relied solely on her mastery of the Mystic Trigram Tactical Formation, advancing with deliberate steps in the intricate pattern.
The deeper she ventured, the more the surroundings blurred into obscurity, leaving her practically blind.
After calling out a few times, she fell silent.
Outside, who knew how many assassins still lurked in ambush? Once she entered, the white–clad figure atop the mountain would clearly see her
silhouette.
If she kept calling out, she’d be exposing herself while the enemies remained hidden, making it all too easy for the assassins to ambush her.
Unable to call for help, Jessica had no choice but to feel her way forward alone.
Soon, visibility shrank to just a few steps ahead. Beyond that, it was complete obscurity.
To make matters worse, howling winds roared all around her.
Before entering, she truly hadn’t realized just how harsh the conditions inside would be!
The Northern Cavalry had endured several days in such harsh conditions. Only their iron will kept them going.
Suddenly, a shadowy figure emerged ahead in the mist.
Jessica swiftly drew her dagger and edged forward. Just as she neared the figure, her footsteps landed, and the blade thrust forward in a flash.
The figure didn’t even flinch.
Jessica’s eyes lit up with recognition. With a deft twist of her wrist, the dagger slid smoothly back into its sheath.
Before she could react, the man pulled her close and crushed her into a tight embrace.
Before she could utter a word, his lips crushed down on hers, sealing her mouth and leaving her utterly voiceless.
Jessica instinctively struggled, but his arms clamped around her slim waist like iron bands, leaving her no chance to break free.
Jessica muffled against his lips, her hands pressing firmly against his chest as she tried with all her might to push him away.
God, there are soldiers everywhere! But he just wouldn’t let go! This damn jerk! Jessica thought.
But soon she realized, with his lips sealing hers, whether it was from lack of air or something else, her mind began to grow hazy.
His lips felt impossibly soft.
There was a sweetness to it, something she’d never experienced before.
There was also something in his breath that made her mind grow hazy, and gradually, even her limbs went weak…
Before she even realized it, her legs gave out and she slumped limply into his arms.
If not for the iron arm clamped around her waist, she believed she’d have slid to the ground, too drained to even rise again.
Her whole body felt limp.

His scent was faint yet paradoxically intense. It was the subtle medicinal fragrance she’d loved since childhood, now woven with his masculine dominance into a suffocating net that trapped her completely.
His kiss held no finesse. Just raw, primal hunger.
He pried apart her lips inch by inch, draining her strength until she sank helplessly into the depths of it all.
Leon’s arm, like an unyielding band of iron, trapped Jessica with a punishing force, leaving her no room to escape.
Jessica could barely breathe, each gasp thinner than the last, her consciousness slipping away.
‘God… I feel like I’m about to pass out… Jessica thought hazily.
After what felt like an eternity, just as Jessica was about to pass out, Leon finally released her.
Both gasped for breath.
They nearly suffocated each other with that kiss!
Evidently, their kissing skills were abysmal. They were both equally clueless, even failing to manage basic breathing!
Barely surviving, Jessica gasped for breath, looked up, and glared at the shameless bastard!
She wanted to curse him out.
But when she caught the suppressed anguish in his eyes, every harsh word died on her lips.
She couldn’t bring herself to scold him.
