Soft morning light filtered in. The screen showed the clean, sharp lines of a man’s forearm muscles.
Andrew was lying face down, half his face buried in a plush duvet. His dark hair was slightly curled, his eyes heavy with sleep. His lips were set in a cool line, and his back rose and fell with each slow breath.
I let out a sigh of relief.
Thank god. He was wearing an old–school black tank top. We had narrowly avoided a full–blown restricted. content situation.

The next moment, Andrew froze, his eyes widening as he stared, dumbfounded, at the dozen or so faces
crammed onto his screen.
“Morning, Andrew!”
“You must be exhausted! It looks like you haven’t rested at all,” Chloe chirped, her eyes shining with what wa: supposed to be heartfelt concern.
Andrew’s brow began to furrow, his jaw tightening.
I subtly shuffled to the edge of the camera’s frame.
Oh no. The last time I saw that death–glare was when he caught me swapping his shaving cream with hair removal lotion.
But Chloe, completely oblivious, just beamed even brighter.
Girl, read the room!
The sound from his phone was amplified tenfold by the studio speakers. I could practically hear the grinding of Andrew’s teeth.
“Lily Lane,” he growled, his voice low and dangerous. “Did you think I was too blind to see you?”
“What, did you change careers? Are you my new pimp, hosting my debutante ball right here?”
“Should I just take everything off and give you all a little dance? Would that liven things up?”
A volley of menacing questions shattered the air. A dead silence fell over the studio, so thick that even the
host was speechless. The only sound was the low hum of the studio equipment.
Suddenly, Andrew sat up. His puppy–dog eyes narrowed to slits, and a wild, mischievous grin spread across his face, his voice suddenly light and clear.
It was the triumphant look of a prankster who had just pulled off the perfect joke.
‘It was a joke, guys. Did I really scare you that much?”
‘Andrew, you’re terrible! I was actually scared for a second!” Chloe whined, puffing out her cheeks.
Andrew’s lips twitched, and he flashed a grin that showed off his canines. The soft morning hair made him ook surprisingly harmless.
‘Oh, Miss Miller, you’re here too,” he said, feigning surprise. “I just saw you.”
What a masterful, instantaneous transformation.
What an unexpectedly happy ending for everyone.
Watching Andrew now, charmingly chatting with the host, I was filled with a newfound respect. I couldn’t

even be jealous of the money he made. A second ago he looked ready to commit murder, and now he was
smiling like a sweetheart.
No wonder he had so many fans wrapped around his little finger.
