Kelsie chuckled and remarked, “What if I did? Diana will never forgive you. Stop dwelling on her.”
John tightened his fists, feeling intense regret for having hurt me multiple times because of Kelsie.
“Diana is the one I love. Consider me gone!”
As he prepared to leave, Kelsie grabbed a pair of scissors and held them to her throat. “You can’t leave!” she insisted.
John regarded her with a frosty gaze.
“If you want to end it, go ahead. I won’t interfere.”
With those words, he turned and walked away.
Stunned, Kelsie watched him go, letting the scissors slip from her grasp as she broke down in tears.
Currently, I’m staying at Caleb’s villa.
I recall when he picked me up from the airport, his face lit up with an undeniable joy, grinning like a fool.
We were childhood friends, familiar with each other for years. Yet, before moving to France, I never considered a re- lationship with him. Once I arrived, I discovered a side of Caleb I hadn’t known–he was far gentler and more consid- erate than I had imagined.
Being with him allows me to express my emotions freely, bringing me a sense of comfort.
Although Caleb isn’t skilled in the kitchen, he took up cooking just to encourage me to eat more.
In the process, he frequently ended up with minor injuries like cuts and burns on his hands. Despite my pleas for him to stop, he persisted, joking that he wanted to “fatten me up.”
Every meal he prepared was something I loved, and in just under two weeks, I had gained ten kilograms. While I fret- ted over this, Caleb was delighted.
I’m not in the best of health, so he found a doctor specifically to help me manage my condition.
Concerned that I might struggle to adjust to a new environment, he takes me out daily to explore various attractions.
Even when he wants to kiss me, he gently asks for my consent, behaving like an inexperienced young man.
Initially, I found it amusing, but later, his parents told me he hadn’t dated anyone all these years, waiting just for me.
I was profoundly moved and shared everything about myself and John with him.
Caleb was furious, upset that John had repeatedly hurt me for Kelsie’s sake.

I smiled and embraced him, saying, “That’s all in the past. I’m truly happy now that I have you.”
Caleb embraced me tightly, and I could tell he sympathized with me.

Sometimes, saying goodbye to the wrong person leads us to the right one.
In the days that followed, I enjoyed a relaxed lifestyle, and my health steadily improved.
Indeed, happiness can be quite rejuvenating.
One day, as I was browsing my phone, I stumbled upon John and Kelsie’s names trending.
Apparently, after Kelsie discovered he wasn’t Adam, they had a massive argument that spiraled into a scandal.
When the relatives found out John had been pretending to be Adam and living as a couple with Kelsie, even sharing a bed, they were shocked.
They called me, first to reprimand John, and then to inform me that Kelsie’s depression had worsened significantly. She had been attempting suicide in various ways and was pressuring John to return home.
It was only then that I realized John had disregarded Kelsie and refused to return.
He had been searching for me everywhere, which seemed absurd given that he had once humiliated me for Kelsie’s sake, but now he seemed indifferent to her.
That evening, Caleb and I went back to the villa.
As I stepped out of the car, I noticed a familiar figure standing outside, but I chose to ignore it.
Caleb kissed me as he usually did, and I wrapped my arms around his neck to kiss him back.
From a distance, John witnessed our kiss, his eyes blazing with anger and disbelief.
“Diana, Diana!” he called out, unable to accept that I was with another man.
The villa was well–protected, making it impossible for him to gain entry. All he could do was observe from a dis-
tance.
It was then that he truly grasped how I felt to see him with Kelsie every day. His heart felt like it was being torn apart.
Despite his loud cries, I didn’t spare him a look and walked into the house, holding Caleb’s arm.
